Hmmm.It is a good car.Pretty raw but you think it's nearly 1 year(approx) of waiting for newer version of thar as per bs6 norms.It would get abs,Airbags.So it would be much better than recent thar.Also I would suggest you to buy Ford EcoSport instead of buying thar because it has little bit off road ability.Also you will get a car for long journey.
Mahindra Thar is available with a 2.5-litre BSIV-compliant diesel engine and can only be had with a 5-speed manual transmission which sends the power to all four wheels. Air conditioning is also available with Mahindra Thar CRDe.
As of now, there is no update regarding the banishment of diesel engines in the country. Most of the commercial vehicles and transport vehicles run on the diesel engines and it'll take some time to find a more suitable alternative in order to replace the diesel engines. The first free service are just for mechanical checkup of car making sure the assembly of car is all well & nothing more so after servicing there are no changes in your car until you change the engine oil and oil filters. If you get these changed then you've to pay for it depending upon the dealership.
Thar will come equipped with a new diesel engine that will comply with BS6 emission standards. It could be the 2.0-litre diesel engine that is expected to replace the 2.2-litre mHawk engine in the Scorpio and XUV500. Details of this engine are not officially available at the moment but we expect it to make power in the range of 140 PS. Torque figure is expected to be around the 320Nm mark.
