The second-gen Ertiga will be powered by a new 1.5-litre petrol engine with SHVS mild-hybrid tech. We’ve already seen this engine underneath the bonnet of the new Ciaz. In the Ciaz, this engine is tuned to produce 105PS @ 6000rpm and 138Nm of peak torque @ 4400rpm. We expect it to be offered in the same state of tune on the Ertiga as well. The diesel engine will remain the same as before - a 1.3-litre unit (produces 90PS/200Nm on the Ciaz) sourced from Fiat. Maruti hasn’t revealed any details about the transmission options yet. However, expect the Ertiga to be offered with the choice of a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic from the Ciaz facelift. There is no official news regarding its CNG variants.

  • Q. Which variant in diesel is recommended - Ertiga 2018?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 10 months ago

The Z+ variant is the only one to get the touchscreen with rear parking camera as standard but for an extra cost of Rs 51,000. It also gets an upmarket steering wheel. If you can afford it and don’t need an automatic transmission, then it is the future proof Z+ variant that you should go for.

If you can’t do without the convenience of an automatic transmission and don't mind spending the extra cash, we recommend going for this one over the ZXi. on the other hand, the Z+ variant is the only one to get the touchscreen with rear parking camera as standard but for an extra cost of Rs 51,000. It also gets an upmarket steering wheel. If you can afford it and don’t need an automatic transmission, then it is the future proof Z+ variant that you should go for.

  • Q. Which will be better variant in Ertiga Petrol or Diesel?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 5 months ago

The Maruti Ertiga Petrol Variant is considered to be a lethargic unit. The 1.5-litre petrol, which is borrowed from the Ciaz will need to plan overtakes. Its Mid-range performance is even with the output gains are also flat. The 1.5-litre diesel unit borrowed from the Brezza performs a bit better in terms of power and torque. Moreover, we would suggest you take a test drive of both the cars to evaluate both the cars in terms of performance and agility of the car.Click here for the dealership: https://www.zigwheels.com/dealers/Maruti-Suzuki
