Rakesh | 2 years ago1 ReplyWell mine is 2012 W8 which has always had major tech issues. Done abt 75000kms but almost every part except maybe engine has been changed. Authorized dealers in Delhi were outright thieves! Every servicing, Items used to go missing from car such as footmats etc. infotainment system went bad within 6 odd years & they said then that spares weren't avbl with company! After writing to top bosses, it finally got repaired (not replaced) tho with some minor issues which earlier dealers wr telling me wasn't possible. Their main income is through spares only! Then I started sending it to garage of an ex employee of authorized dealer. Suspension, steering, ac, clutch & gear & obviously tyres & battery also (these 2 are normal)- all systems have been replaced in these 10 odd years. Even now when it goes for normal servicing to a trusted garage, never comes back with expenses less than 20K approx....window rollers replaced dozens of times, door latches getting jammed regularly, regular wrong alerts etc etc....but when I do drive it, it's a beauty to handle. But for the waiting period, wudve replaced with XYV 700 but now many better models/ companies avbl. Btw, city mileage has never been over 9.2 (Diff cities like Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai) & highway around 12Km.
Vishal | 7 years ago39 ReplyHi, No fixed Parameters to judge or to limit the life of any engine, it depends on a lot of factors. My XUV is touching 1.15L KMs, it is 5 years old but still performs like new, I used it for both, city driving and highways, it has never let me down so far. I have done non-stop solo trips in extremely rainy conditions, in extreme summers, and in extreme wintery condition as well, all such trips I'm talking are between 800 to 1200 KMs. Never a problem, ever! If you'll respect it, it will respect you back, if you'll abuse it, well, it will still reciprocate! With my engine, I'm sure I'm not gonna have any major issues in the engine before 5L KMs. Regards!
Malik | 5 years ago11 ReplyWhen to change ,cluch plate and timing belt,i have 2012 model 95000 driven but change only beack pads ,and car is running still now like new car, goning to update arc suspension as many sugest it will absorb all body rollnand bumpy ride, pls guid is it good ir i go for regular company suspension..Thanks
Sarabjit | 7 years ago16 Reply@ Nikhil | I have been driving this for past 4 years and 80k kms and it seems to perform pretty well. Not sure, how many kms the engine takes. But, considering the performance it shall last easy 2L kms. Thanks
Well, I had bought xuv 500 in sep 2013, and have driven it for 70,000 KM's. But mine was a bad experience. The car's body is badly corroded in multiple places and rain water is leaking through the roof!!. Despite of taking good care of the car over these 6 years , the condition is badly deteriorated. This is for sure that Mahindra uses cheap quality door making their cars and any investment ( I had paid 18 lacs ,on road price then) made would go down the drain. Would never buy a Mahindra car ever again!!
Monesh | 5 years ago0 ReplyThis car is great in terms of mileage comfort AC vents and a great cooling system the infotainment system or music system is great fully loaded with features but this car is large and very difficult to drive through a narrow road. It's pricey also
Vikrant | 6 years ago1 Reply@ Autophoria | Xuvs have a really long engine life..6 to 7 lacs is decent..but it varies from user to user, based on the way he treats the beast. Proper n timely service from reputed center is the key. If properly done, xuv will be perfect with you for lacs and lacs of kms..
Hello sir in nagpur company authorized service center is very worst they don't do good servicing and repairing work at all we have to depend upon the local automobiles only and they do better than the mahindra workshops
Saravanan | 5 years ago13 ReplyHi if you do proper service as per Mahindra kilometre service schedule you will not have any problems. I use xuv500 w6 bought in 2013 and now crossed more than 3 lakh kilometres still my car performance is excellent.
Nikhil | 6 years ago1 Reply@ Girish | Hi Nikil, howz the performance of clutch replacement.
The performance is pretty good and I am pretty happy with it overall. According to the dealer the clutch plate replacement is an activity that has to be done after 60k kms but not sure how justified is this.
Pankaj | 5 years ago0 ReplyI have done 47000 till date. No problem, servicing Charges are 2208/- (5000 Kms), 1170/- (10000 Kms), 6434 (20000 Kms), 4284 (30000 Kms), 9745/- (40000 Kms) Tyres Change 44000/- (47000 Kms). (23,841 on servicing till 47000 Kms)
BIJU | 4 years ago0 ReplyI am having xuv500 W8 of 2012 model. Have clicked 220000 km. Till now no problem with the engine. Change clutch plate @180000km for the first time. I am using mobil 5w 40 full synthetic engine oil and my drain period is between every 10-12000 km. My engine performance is still like new. No vibrations.
Sneakerhead | 6 years ago1 ReplyHave owned the xuv500 since 4 years , ran more than 1 lakh , still runs like a beast . Never faced any problems just got the regular services through company .
Mav | 5 years ago0 ReplyMajor overhaul every 35k-50k km depending upon your usage quality, and considering the performance at over 100k km, I believe it should live well up to 300k km minimum.
Kiran | 6 years ago5 ReplyHave owned the xuv500 since 7years , ran 277000 lakh , still runs like a beast . Never faced any problems just got the regular services through company .

Madhusoodhanan | 2 years ago0 ReplyIn my case I have a XUV w10 and has gone for 1.45 lakhs and 8 yrs old. Never I had issues with my car. Was planning to sell but decided against seeing how well the car behaved. So not considering selling it and plan to keep for at least 3 lakh KM.
Autophoria | 7 years ago4 ReplyAn easy 2 to 3 lakh kms without any problems, (only regular routine maintenance)... i personally know an xuv doinģ its 287000 kms..nothing done otherthan regular maintenance.. Engine life will be much more than that, if u take care of it well
Maddipati | 5 years ago0 ReplyEven today it is the best car with low maintenance cost . My xuv crossed 70 K and even today it performs like a new cay . Any bad experience is a one in million defects .
