Octavia is a very good car no doubt... But if you are someone who loves driving than 1.8tsi is the best in the segment and the DSG AT is another advantage. If you are planning to buy, I guess the new model is on its way and might come in the market by next year

New model out...tsi dsg is a gem there are worries if long term issue with the dual clutch but not proven...so buy it ..you cant see the variant in its twin.

Is Octavia fine with the 155 clearance on spread breaker.Secondly what about water logging problem ?

It comes only in manual version! If you are a mileage concious person, you can go for it! It will definitely be less powerful than the 1.8 Tsi! And you will not have the DSG Auto!
