Firstly both the cars are not of the same segment. Also both cars are typically 5 seater cars and not 4 seater cars. I would advise that if you prefer performance and build quality rather than maintenance cost and more space it is better to opt for VW Polo between TSI edition and GT line only as these to variants come with a turbo charged engines which enhances Polo's performance and drive quality. However if you prefer to affordable maintenance and more spacious car for comfort in riding it is better to opt for Vitara Brezza. In terms of mileage I don't think there is much of difference between both the cars.

Maruti brezza you should prefer because unlike other maruti cars brezza's build quality is very good and vw didn't gave any update to the polo so brezza looks more fresh ,brezza's maintenance would be low and you won't get much resale value on vw polo later on and maruti is known for very descent resale value .i saw many polo cars selling at very low price later on but maruti gets very descent reasle value

It depends upon what do you want to drive, do you want to drive an automatic with good world wide recognised build quality and award winning TSI engine along with DSG gear box then go for Polo GT TSI. But yes in the back seat 3 people can’t sit comfortably.
