Features: The top-spec Isuzu V-Cross Prestige features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-speaker audio system with roof-mounted speakers, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, powered driver seat, automatic climate control, and keyless entry with push-button start. Safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill-start assist, and rear parking sensors with camera. The D-Max Hi-Lander, on the other hand, only comes with essentials such as dual airbags, manual air conditioning, powered windows, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
Engine: Isuzu offers the pickup with an updated version of the 1.9-litre diesel engine that develops 163PS of power and 360Nm of torque, 13PS/10Nm more powerful than the BS4 version. Transmission options include a new 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The base-spec Hi-Lander gets a rear-wheel drivetrain. The Z variant gets an option of both front- and all-wheel drivetrains while the top-spec Z Prestige comes equipped with an all-wheel drivetrain only. The larger 2.5-litre diesel engine has been discontinued.
Rivals: The V-Cross does not have any direct rivals in the country, but in its price range, you could opt for the Mahindra Thar, Tata Harrier, and Jeep Compass.
Variants: The D-Max is available in two broad trims: Hi-Lander and V-Cross. The former replaces the V-Cross standard as the entry-level model, while the latter features the more premium variants.
