Mercedes has launched the SL 55 AMG in India with a price tag of Rs 2.35 crore (ex-showroom). The iconic SL nameplate has made a comeback after a 12 year gap and is the only other convertible, alongside the E-Class Cabriolet, in Mercedes’ India lineup currently. The SL 55 is the mid-spec variant of the SL range and sits below the SL 63 trim.

AMG SL Key Highlights

Engine: Propulsion duties are carried out by a 476PS/700Nm 4-litre twin turbo V8, which sends power to four wheels with the help of the 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. It is good for a 0-100kmph time of 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 295kmph.

Rivals: It is a rival to the Porsche 911 Cabriolet and Jaguar F-Type Convertible.
