Price: The e-scooter is priced at Rs 86,540 (ex-showroom Delhi, including FAME-2 subsidy).
Design: Talking of design, the NYX comes with LED headlight, which is surrounded by an LED DRL. Even the front blinkers have DRLs below them. These well thought out DRL positionings give the e-scooter its modern appeal. Hero Electric NYX comes with a flat floorboard, which is also wide. Adding to the convenience are the hooking points, present all around the vehicle and also the inclusion of a center-stand adds to practicality. The e-scooter comes with folding split-seats.
Features: Talking of features, the headlight and tail-lamp units are LED, while the blinkers remain to be halogens. The e-scooter has apron-mounted storage, along with a water bottle holder and the presence of a USB port further adds to rider’s convenience. Also, the underseat storage on this vehicle is not-so-big, but it does get a foldable pillion seat. With the seat folded, one can install a cargo box or can secure heavier loads. The fully-digital instrument console shows bits like speed, distance-to-empty, range, the two battery levels and a clock, including the general trove of information. The console even has Bluetooth connectivity in select, to provide information regarding battery health, on your smartphone. The Nyx also has regenerative braking and a Reverse Mode, for added ease.
Motor: The Hero Electric NYX is powered by a hub-type electric motor, which produces 1.35kW of peak power. The motor is run using a 51.2/30Ah dual-battery pack, which is also portable and can be charged through a standard power outlet in 4-5 hours. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front fork and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking is done via drum units at both ends, with CBS coming as standard. It rolls on 10 inch alloy wheels, which are wrapped in tubeless tyres. The company claims a range of 138km per charge, along with 42kmph top speed. The ground clearance on this e-scooter stands at a generous 175mm.
Rivals: The Nyx rivals the likes of the Benling Aura, Hero Electric Optima, PURE EV Epluto and the iVOOMi City. If we talk about the functionality of the Nyx, its direct rival would be Okinawa dual 100, however, it’s significantly costlier than the former.
