Q. Is Toyota Camry better than Skoda Superb?
  • Both cars are good enough. Toyota has made the new Camry so much more desirable with cooler gizmos, a significantly better ride and handling package and statement making styling. However, with the FAME incentives now retracted, it’s also a lot more expensive than a non-hybrid petrol alternative like the Skoda Superb, the top-spec of which, is also Rs 6 lakh cheaper than the Camry Hybrid. And that does water down the appeal of the Camry’s superior fuel efficiency. So even with its brand new and more appealing persona, the deal closer is, in no small part, the Toyota brand promise and everything that comes with it. On the otherh and, if we talk about Skoda Superb, it is the last of a dying breed. All its competitors have suffered a painful death, being trampled upon by SUVs. The ones that managed to survive, like the Toyota Camry or the Honda Accord till some time ago, went hybrid. So the fact that the Superb still managed to come out the other end of the tunnel, using the formula of a luxurious, spacious and sporty limousine, which it first brought to India almost a decade ago is nothing short of an achievement itself. With this facelifted Superb, Skoda has once again reminded us of what we will miss once the SUVs and the electrics fully take over. A sedan that packs in luxury, comfort, space and sheer driving pleasure all in one. If only the Superb offered the very latest technology like the SUVs of today, maybe we would see a resurgence in its sales.   • I own a 2021 skoda superb l&k and it is the best luxury car in the price bracket of 30-45l . For me it has had no problem , the comfort is elite , ride quality is supple and the 2.0 l tsi with 7 speed dsg is monstrously powerful , it also has 4year maintenance package and a 2yrs extended warranty , service stations too are in my vicinity !! so if you can afford it go ahead and buy it over an entry level Audi or a BMW ... I have personally experienced all the 3 German dogs ... but in Audi , Mercedes and BMW , the real luxury starts after 55-60l ..others are just for mass market customers (like 2 series , a3 , a class , etc) for popularising their badge ...
  • ITS A PREMIUM CAR WITH ALL THE LUXURIES OF A S CLASS MERC. VALUE FOR MONEY AND I don't THINK ITS THAT EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT.
