Scoda rapid

During last nine years my scoda rapid has covered 170000 kms and still going strong just last week we visited jaipur in a day and came back, Fuel consumption 18 to 24, Rapid has covered more then 900 kms many times in a day, Like visiting ghaziabad to bhopal, Ghaziabad to itawa and back, Etc, No major maintenance other then change of oil, Filters and tyres, Two front shock absorber changed, Ac condenser changed, Parts r reasonably cheap at dealer services station, Unfortunately diesel version has stopped other wise i will opt for scoda only.

Average comfort

High maintenance costs.Average comfort.Good safety.👍 ok...Bad company service backup.Spares very costly and bad availability.Service centers charge heavily and they don't respect insurance claim.Advance payments for spares are always asked for!.

Q. Compared with earlier version of Skoda Rapid, Now the engine power is only 1000 CC(999cc). Since Engine power reduced, how the performance like speed, pulling power, torque, mileage ?
  • The new Skoda Rapid comes equipped with a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. The engine has actually shrunk in size from 1600cc to just 999cc. Not exactly an inspiring statement. But the key acronym in the spec sheet is ‘TSI,’ and that really makes a big difference to the equation. The gearbox is also a new 6-speed manual and its throws are short, and it’s fairly slick-shifting too. That engine is also nice and tractable, so you can stay in a high gear, say 4th for example, and allow the revs to drop down to as low as say 1500rpm and it will still pull away cleanly without too much of a complaint. Yes, it is a small engine paired with a turbo, so below 2000rpm throttle response is dull, but that doesn't mean you can't keep up with traffic in the city, and a slight prod on the throttle means you can pull off an overtake.
