Triumph will be unveiling two new bikes and a special edition bike at the annual Motorcycle Live bike show, NEC Birmingham, UK. Between the 19th and 21st of this month motorcycle enthusiasts in England will get a chance to take a look at the new Triumph Tiger Explorer, the Triumph Speed Triple R and the much awaited Triumph Steve McQueen Edition

The Triumph Tiger Explorer is an adventure tourer that comes with an all new 1215cc three cylinder engine which develops 137PS. The new engine comes with a ride-by-wire throttle system and the Tiger Explorer comes with a number of electronic driver aids such as cruise control, traction control and anti-lock braking system. The new power plant has been built to allow hassle free biking with 16000 km service intervals, which is a phenomenal gap between service intervals.

The new Tiger explorer from Triumph comes with a useful height adjustable rider’s seat, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a host of accessories like heated rider and pillion seats, heated grips, high power fog lamps and others. The 2012 Tiger Explorer will be available in three colours namely, Sapphire Blue, Graphite and Phantom black.

The Triumph Speed Triple R has been developed in collaboration with Ohlins, the Swedish suspension expert. As a result the Speed Triple R gets latest spec front forks and a TTX35 unit at the back. The lightweight aluminium wheels contribute to reducing the unsprung weight of the bike. All of this has made the Speed Triple R lighter, more precise and agile over the standard Triumph Speed Triple.

Triumph Speed Triple R

The Speed Triple R comes with a 1050cc three cylinder capable of engine generating 137PS, the bike also comes with a completely redesigned gearbox with more refined shift. The brakes on the Speed Triple R are from Brembo and feature four piston monoblock callipers, ABS is standard on the bike.

The bike will be available in metallic black or crystal white along with lots of ‘R’ detailing.

Triumph Steve McQueen Edition

The Triumph Steve McQueen Edition has been designed by Triumph as a tribute to Hollywood star Steve McQueen’s love for Triumph’s bikes. Just 1100 Steve McQueen bikes will be made. The Bike is based on the Bonneville T100. The Steve McQueen Edition features a military style Matt Khaki Green paint job which is inspired by the Triumph Trophy TR6 which McQueen rode in the famous stunt scene from the movie, The Great Escape. The bike will come with stencil style Triumph decal on the fuel tank and will have McQueen’s signature on the side covers.

The bike comes with a rugged skid plate and a small black bodied headlamp. It features a number of blacked out components and a numbered plaque on the handle bar which shows which of the 1100 bikes it is.
