MV Agusta Continues Producing Beauties Despite Coronavirus Scare

The world is going through a tough time right now. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced several institutions to shut down temporarily. Even the auto industry has been affected as KTM had to cease production at its Mattighofen facility. While big market players can afford to undertake losses, it could take a toll on smaller outfits like MV Agusta. Despite being at the centre of the chaos in Europe, the Italian manufacturer has decided to keep its production line active, albeit with limited personnel.

Agusta’s Schiranna factory is in one of the most affected areas of Italy. Hence, you would be concerned if you had to go to work in this situation. However, Agusta has stated that it is taking every measure to disinfect and protect its employees who are needed to attend work. Few of the ‘non-essential’ departments (we guess the one who aren’t actually working on the assembly line) have been told to work from their homes.

Meanwhile, Yamaha’s European arm has followed KTM’s suit and closed its engine factory in Reno, Italy as well as its assembly plant in Saint-Quentin, France. Also, Bologna-based Ducati has decided to extend its shutdown period to March 25. Ducati was one of the first brands to halt its production line, hoping to get operations underway once again by March 18.
