Despite setting up independent dealerships Fiat has failed to improve it sales volume in the country in the last few years. Now, it is reportedly planning to sell its cars through multi-brand Fiat Chrysler dealerships in India as this move has been successful in global markets.
Lately, Fiat has registered a drastic low sales record, selling just 600 units in the month of July; that too when the company has close to a hundred dealerships across the nation. Fiat recently launched the Linea 125S and along with it, it offered various discounts. But, still, people are not in favour of this car and it is believed that sales are not reaching up to the mark because of the cars being perceived as high maintenance.
Promoting it as a long-term progress, Kevin Flynn, managing director of Fiat Chrysler, stated, “If it was about the volumes we are doing right now then we would not need half the people we have now and infrastructure we have now. It is not about where we are today, it is about where we will be in future. The new FCA will showcase our new face.”
“The company has already addressed the sustainability aspect of its dealers by reworking the incentive structure, and now it is in the process of defining the future product map to bring back the brand Fiat into sizeable volumes,” he added.
As per ET Auto, the new dealerships will be set up around the festive season in Mumbai and will be a base to Fiat cars as well as upcoming Jeeps, whenever they hit the Indian markets.
