Armaan Bags Double Podium In Thailand At The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series

Driving for team Dilantha Racing, Indian racecar driver Armaan Ebrahim, along with Dilantha Malagamuwa from Sri Lanka, has bagged a double win at the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia series held in Thailand this weekend. The duo was able to claim the third position in the Day One race that was held on Saturday, followed by a successful second place finish on Day Two on Sunday.

Speaking about the first race, Armaan had qualified second and was just a tenth off from pole position start. Dilantha, on the other hand, was not keeping well and was able to secure the sixth position during qualifying. At the beginning of the race Armaan was off to a fine start, claiming the lead at Turn 1, and maintained the one-second advantage till he entered the pits for Dilantha to take over. Dilantha, despite being on drips going into the weekend due to food poisoning, gave his best shot but unfortunately lost one spot and eventually finished third.

Day two was a successful one as Dilantha, feeling much better, was able to go up by two spots to the fourth position, and one more after the car in front of him went wide on a turn. After the mandatory pit-stop to swap with Armaan, the action was further fuelled with some blistering laps that allowed him to achieve the second spot. Armaan had to settle for the second position as the gap between the leaders was big to make up.

Commenting on the double win at this weekend, Armaan Ebrahim, said: “We were a bit unfortunate in the first race after I came in when in the lead as Dilantha had not fully recovered from food poisoning that had him on the drips. Considering this, we were happy to finish second.”
