Reise Dalton Jacket Initial Impressions: Lightweight, Stylish And Comfortable

Anyone who rides regularly knows how difficult summer riding can get. Long hours on the bike, traffic, and constant exposure to the sun can quickly become exhausting. That’s why a well-ventilated riding jacket is just as important as good protection, helping you stay comfortable and focused on the road.

Recently, I started using the new Reise Dalton jacket, which has managed to leave a strong first impression. Priced at Rs 8,499, the sports-touring jacket combines a clean design, comprehensive protection, and what is easily its biggest highlight — excellent ventilation. I’ve been using it for weekend rides and content shoots around Pune, and so far, it has proven to be a comfortable companion in the summer heat.

Tailored Looks Without The Bulk

One of the first things I noticed about the Dalton is how well it fits. It offers a sleek and smart silhouette that looks neat from every angle. The sport fit doesn’t make it look bulky or loose. The jacket gets adjustment straps on the arms and waist, allowing riders to fine-tune the fit. However, for my 5ft 9in, 75kg relatively lean built frame, the size L jacket fit surprisingly well straight out of the box, requiring no adjustment.

Design-wise, Reise has kept things simple and mature. The Reise Dalton is available in multiple colour options like Green, Khaki and Blue. I received a black-coloured jacket featuring subtle grey camouflage graphics that add a bit of character without being loud. The branding is also minimal, with a simple Reise logo on the right side, giving the jacket a clean and premium appearance.

Cool, Comfortable And Confidence Inspiring

Protection is one area where Dalton leaves little to complain about. It comes equipped with Safetech Easyflex Level-2 armour across the chest, shoulders, elbows, and back, offering a reassuring level of protection for touring and everyday riding alike.

Despite all armour present, the jacket never feels excessively heavy. It is comfortable to wear, easy to move around in, and surprisingly manageable even during longer periods off the motorcycle. What truly stands out, though, is the ventilation. Compared to the riding jackets I’ve used previously, this is easily the best ventilated one so far. Even while riding through peak Pune summer conditions, airflow remains excellent, making the experience far more bearable than expected.

A Small Issue, But Worth Mentioning

No product is perfect, and Dalton does have one minor annoyance. The rear section of the collar sits slightly low, which can cause the collar of your T-shirt to peek out from the back of the jacket. It’s a small cosmetic issue, but it does affect the overall look. Fortunately, wearing a T-shirt with a shorter collar largely solves the problem.

As of now, the Reise Dalton jacket has delivered a very positive first impression. It looks good, fits well, offers serious protection, and excels in ventilation. I’ll continue using it over the coming months, but based on my initial experience, it’s shaping up to be a strong sports-touring jacket with plenty of promise.
