KYT R1R Racing Helmet Launched In India

KYT has launched the R1R racing helmet in India, and at Rs 39,000, it appears to be aimed at riders who take their gear as seriously as their bikes. This one isn’t just about branding either, as it comes from KYT’s MotoGP racing programme, so there’s some proper track DNA behind it. It was first shown at India Bike Week 2025, and now it’s finally on sale, and has multiple variants.

Design

The design is exactly what you’d expect from a race-focused helmet, sharp, edgy, and a bit dramatic. The rear spoiler stands out, but it’s not just there to look cool. KYT says the R1R has been wind-tunnel tested to improve aerodynamics, which should help with stability when speeds go up. It’s the kind of thing you may not notice immediately, but it matters when you’re riding hard.

Construction 

Construction is another strong point here. The shell uses a mix of carbon fibre, aramid fibre, and fibreglass, what KYT calls a tricomposite setup. In simple terms, it’s built to be strong without becoming unnecessarily heavy. At 1,550g, it’s not ultra-light, but still reasonable for what it offers. Plus, it comes in three shell sizes (Small, Medium, and Large), which should help with getting a better fit.

Safety

On the safety side, it ticks the right boxes. You get a multi-density EPS liner for better impact absorption, along with ECE 22.06 and ISI certifications. There is also a double D-ring closure, which enhances its overall safety. The R1R is claimed to have good visibility. The visor is Pinlock ready and offers a wide field of view – 210 degrees horizontally and 90 degrees vertically.

For the price, the KYT R1R should offer a premium quality, superior styling and the best possible safety. Overall, the KYT R1R feels less like a flashy launch and more like a serious piece of riding gear that’s been built with purpose.
