For most families I'd go with the HTK(O). It's the sweet spot in the Seltos range. Over the HTK it adds the panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloys, front parking sensors, wireless charging and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, for about Rs 1.1 lakh more. The HTK(O) 1.5 petrol manual is Rs 14.52 lakh ex-showroom, which works out to roughly Rs 16.94 lakh on-road in Delhi. If the budget stretches, the HTX is the next step at Rs 15.92 lakh ex-showroom (about Rs 18.57 lakh on-road in Delhi). It adds automatic climate control, the bigger 12.3-inch screen, the premium sound system, connected car tech and LED fog lamps. Nice to have, but the extra Rs 1.4 lakh is only worth it if you'll really use those.Two other things to decide first. If you drive mostly in city traffic, the IVT automatic costs about Rs 1.3 lakh more than the manual on the same trim, and with family in the car it's a lot more relaxing. If you run a lot of kilometres every month, look at the diesel, which costs about Rs 1.6 lakh more than the petrol on the same trim.I have the petrol manual and it's comfortable for a family of four or five with luggage. Just don't expect it to feel quick on the highway when it's fully loaded.
