    The Hyundai Verna is available with three engine options: 1.4-litre petrol, 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel. The 1.4-litre petrol engine produces 100PS/132Nm, while the 1.6-litre petrol engine makes 123PS/151Nm. Power figures for the 1.6-litre diesel engine, on the other hand, stand at 128PS/260Nm. Both the 1.6-litre engines are offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, while the 1.4-litre engine is offered only with the 6-speed manual gearbox. If your requiremnts are only for the city comutes then 1.4 liter petrol version would be a better pick other wise if you need more power, then you can opt 1.6 liter petrol version. and if your daily usage is more than around 50km then you may opt for 1.6 diesel version. Here are the ARAI-certified figures for fuel efficiency: 17.70kmpl (petrol-MT), 15.92kmpl (petrol-AT), 24.75kmpl (diesel-MT) and 21.02kmpl (diesel-AT).     Diesel if you believe in the phrase pedal to the metal & great fuel efficiency. Petrol is good too but the diesel is so much superior in every aspect that , it usually overshadows the petrol variant in sales as well overall driving experience.
