Q. I am planning to buy Kia Seltos HT line (1.5 litre engine), however unsure of performance after first/second servicing. Can an owner please advise if there is an issue that exists after first or second service-either in engine or any other aspect such as transmission, suspension etc.?

If you are looking for a no-nonsense city commuter car with ease of driving then surely you may opt for the 1.5-litre petrol-powered Kia Seltos. It's a compact SUV that looks super promising, offers a lot and from our first drive experience lacks very little. Apart from the strong engines, the Seltos also has a pliant ride quality. At low speeds, you do hear the suspension working, especially over sharp bumps, but you don’t get thrown around or feel uncomfortable. As the speed rises the ride gets flatter, with well-controlled body movements which makes the Seltos a good long-distance cruiser. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the car for a better insight into the performance, comfort and compatibility. Kia has tested seltos over 20 lakh km in india. No issues at all. However if you use BS4 fuel ( Diesel) & commute in top gear ( 6th usually & rarely 5th) & also commute frequently long distance, the yellow light, shows up & you will have to take it to service center & clean / replace DPF (Diesel particulate filter) due to clogging, done free of cost. However take care, to tank up at reputed fuel outlets & keep away from adulterated pumps. Regarding your purchase, grab the seltos at the earliest, & also take 5 year extended limited warranty of 1,20,000 km. Now if you take 5 years unlimited km warranty, the cost goes up by ₹5000.

As per the requirement, we'd suggest you to go with the 1.5-litre diesel engine of Kia Seltos. The diesel engines are more efficient and use 15−20% less fuel meaning cheaper running costs. The 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 115PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Go for Diesel engine with mannual transmission. It most fuel efficient as well as power is also very punchy in diesel version and diesel engine of seltos is most refined among all engines
Q. How is the reliability of diesel engine of Kia Seltos? What are the pros and cons?
Zigwheels | 5 months ago
Kia Seltos gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 115PS of maximum power and 250Nm peak torque coupled either with a 6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT. The diesel engine is quite smooth and refined as well and the engine responds very well even at lower RPMs. The engine feels very much capable of for high-speed cruises though it gets a little noisy at higher RPMs however, you would not require to rev it hard very often. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the car for a better insight into the performance, comfort and compatibility. Follow the link for dealership details - Kia Car Showrooms

Engine of Kia seltos diesel is supremely refined and it is refined at higher rpms also. Performance of diesel 1.5 seltos is even better than Creta 1.6 diesel because Seltos does not have turbo lag and 250 NM torque is available right from lower rpms. So driving is most pleasurable in Seltos Diesel 1.5 and reliability of seltos diesel engine is as same as any hyundai diesel engine because hyundai & Kia both use Hyundai you series Crdi diesel engines.
