If you are looking for a no-nonsense city commuter car with ease of driving then surely you may opt for the 1.5-litre petrol-powered Kia Seltos. It's a compact SUV that looks super promising, offers a lot and from our first drive experience lacks very little. Apart from the strong engines, the Seltos also has a pliant ride quality. At low speeds, you do hear the suspension working, especially over sharp bumps, but you don’t get thrown around or feel uncomfortable. As the speed rises the ride gets flatter, with well-controlled body movements which makes the Seltos a good long-distance cruiser. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the car for a better insight into the performance, comfort and compatibility. As per the requirement, we'd suggest you to go with the 1.5-litre diesel engine of Kia Seltos. The diesel engines are more efficient and use 15−20% less fuel meaning cheaper running costs. The 1.5-litre diesel engine makes 115PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. • Q. Is Kia Seltos powerful enough? the automatic one because I have driven Creta automatic and it feels so underpowered? And what about its service?

The Seltos feels effortless to drive in the city. The engine feels refined and you don't have to go hard on the throttle pedal to get a move on. Initial inputs get you going smoothly and this makes the Seltos an easy drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Even when pushed for quick overtakes, the engine has plenty of power and won't feel breathless, allowing for lesser gear shifts. The automatic transmission, for city use, it will take some getting used to as the power delivery and the gearshifts feel out of sync in stop-go traffic. the transmission is so quick and smooth that you can’t even make out when it shifts gears. However, it is a bit too eager to shift up and down and these aren’t timed too well with the kick from the turbo. This results in sudden and unnecessarily rapid acceleration alternating with unwanted dullness. This makes it feel a bit tiring to drive at slow speeds. Moreover, we'd suggest taking the test drive so that you can feel the power and check the performance of Kia Seltos. • Q. How is the reliability of diesel engine of Kia Seltos? What are the pros and cons?

    Zigwheels | 5 months ago

Kia Seltos gets a 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 115PS of maximum power and 250Nm peak torque coupled either with a 6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT. The diesel engine is quite smooth and refined as well and the engine responds very well even at lower RPMs. The engine feels very much capable of for high-speed cruises though it gets a little noisy at higher RPMs however, you would not require to rev it hard very often. Moreover, we'd recommend taking a test drive of the car for a better insight into the performance, comfort and compatibility. Follow the link for dealership details - Kia Car Showrooms
