Maruti Swift is available in 3 Automatic variants, out of which all are petrol. The base Automatic variant Swift AMT VXI starts at Rs. 6.66 Lakh and the top-end Automatic variant Swift AMT ZXI Plus is priced at Rs. 8.02 Lakh.
Both the variants have its own identity, Here if you'll be driving more in heavy city traffic then we suggest you to opt for Automatic Transmission which is easier to use and more comfortable for the driver, while Manual Transmission vehicles are less expensive more involved & are more fun to drive on highways. Moreover, we would suggest you walk into the nearest dealership to take the test drive of the vehicle. Automatic cars only benefit you if you often go for long drives(>100 km) and that too 4 or 5 times a month. Also automatic car is better for old aged and handicaped people.Since automatic cars have a higher price than the manual onea therefore it is just a wastage of money.Manual gearbox is way too better in performance espacially of you are driving on terrans and hilly roads.S

Manual has manual mood... automatic is however a moody car.. you cannot make a control over pickup amd pressure in automatic car. For sporty and thrilling drive you cannot choose automatic car. But it is good in traffic conditions in city. As it is easier to drive during rush hours.
Difference between the two variant is in the features. The top ZXI+ manual variant has the additional conveniences of touch screen smart Play infotainment System, LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lamp (DRLs) and reverse camera parking system, none of which is available in the ZXI AMT variant. All these additional features are luxurious in nature and you can go ahead with the automatic as it offers very convenient driving in the grinding city traffic conditions.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is back to its sporty roots, with the chassis tuned for handling than outright comfort. It is an enthusiast car, without compromising on space, practicality and efficiency. So it would be a great pick if you are looking for a comfortable, fun to drive car. On the other hand, if we talk about Tata Tiago, it has one of the most attractive designs at this price point. Great build quality and the 4-stars in Global NCAP speaks highly about safety. So, it would be a great pick if your priority is looks and safety. In terms of fuel efficiency, Tiago and Swift deliver similar figures in the city i.e. 16.04 kmpl and 16.1 kmpl respectively. Also, Maruti Swift ZXI Amt offers Remote Trunk Opener, Engine Start Stop Button, Brake Assist, Anti Theft Alarm, Isofix Child Seat Mounts, Outside Temperature Display etc which are absent in Tiago XZA Plus AMT. While over Swift ZXI AMT, Tiago XZA Plus AMT offers Adjustable Headrest, Seat Lumbar Support, Glove Box Cooling, Voice Control, One Touch Operating Power Window, Rear Camera, Follow Me Home Headlamps, Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock, 7 inch Touch Screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay etc. Ultimately, it boils down to your needs and priorities. You may compare both the cars according to their variants too. Do take a test drive before the final call. Check out authorised dealership details.
I have driven both and I find Automatic is better for 3 reasons mainly, it is said that mileage is less in automatic, but I feel, it is true for only particular style of driving, otherwise automatic gives good mileage as you are not accelerating too much in any particular gear, and it changes the gear immediately as it crosses 2000 RPM. Second, the maintenance should be less when the car is changing the gear at the right RPM. You may forget to change and it may be less than or more than 2000 RPM. We are not robots, but in automatic the system maintains the ratio correctly. And last, the comfort level is better as you don't bother to change gear your self.

The primary difference between an automatic and a manual
transmission is the method the car uses to shift gears. In an automatic transmission, the car decides
when you shift and automatically changes gears for you. In a manual transmission car, you are responsible for
shifting gears using the clutch and gas pedals.

It's a auto gear shift..ags better than amt ..smtp senses gear shift...ags speed. ..its close to superior CVT as in a polo.
If swift had a CVT like in polo I would have suggested swift. suto gearshift better thsn amt but not near a CVT. do manual in petrol or diesel. clutch are super smooth.if you are ok with the nighled of auto gesr shift can consider it.

Engine capacity less than 1.5 i feel its always best to go for manual. U feel a lag in power delivery while ur overtaking and climbing the hill. Considering the usage is going to be only inside city, a big yes for automatic.

In traffic it helps when its bumper to bumper stuck, and even on long journeys it always gives you comfort ride, automatic is updated version of all stock manual vehicles, many automatic cars comes with "hill start and stop"
1) if you fumble & have difficulty in changing gears go for automatic, if you are comfortable with changing gears go for the manual. 2) cost is about 80k more than the manual, further maintenance costs will be higher for the automatic & mileage will be lower by 20 % on the automatic.3) Last but not the least, the whole world is on automation, so in future, you will get only automatic cars, while manual transmission will be obsolete. But it would take a couple of years

It depends on your comfort automatic costly around 40 to 50 k extra. But it provide lots of comfort
