Pranjal | 5 years ago0 ReplyI have gone through most of the comments of experts in terms of the longevity/long run capabilty/life of a diesel and petrol engine car. One common statement is always there to find 'if running is more or less than 50 kms per day it is better to opt a diesel engine car otherwise it will better to turn to the petrol variant'.But my point is that if we simply reverse the above said statement does it mean that the reliability, efficiency, longevity/life of a diesel engine car will get reduced than a petrol engine car over a span of say three years which has less or no running in a month, keeping aside the other comparisons like cost, fuel consumption efficiency, drivability etc of a petrol and diesel engine respectively. Can anyone please clarify this thing to me?
Debanjan Chaudhuri | 5 years ago2 ReplyIf you intend to drive more than 1,000-1,200 km every month & you plan to take the car to the highways frequently, go for diesel. Its smooth yet punchy. Ford diesel engines are a class apart. The 1.5 Diesel engine is time tested & very reliable. The 1.5 L Petrol is also a smooth engine, but the mileage is much lesser compared to the diesel. If you are a driving enthusiast and a rev happy driver, go for diesel.
Shobhit | 7 years ago0 Reply1.5 L Tdci Diesel engine is Gold in terms of power, drivability, mileage. It is one of the best engine in the segment. It is so good that it feels faster than the other cars which produce more power from there 1.5 (Nexon).Petrol of the ecosport is brilliant too.The new 1.5 Dragon series engine make 121hp.It is a powerful engine and has excellent refinement. It comes with both manual and automatic gearbox. The mileage though is not it's strongest point. So it depends upon your running and usage
Raja | 5 years ago3 ReplyIt depends on your usage. if you are frequently traveling more than 50 km per day better you can go for diesel. otherwise, you can go for petrol. and if you are concern about mileage diesel is the best option.
Jo | 6 years ago1 ReplyPetrol dont have EcoBoost tech in 2020..we get a 3 cylinder engine with 120 ps..my personal opinion is to go for diesel titanium plus with adequate power..6 airbags..good mileage ..bs6..ok...?..good luck
Sandeep | 5 years ago0 ReplyIf you don’t care about the mileage then go for a petrol automatic man it’s very good if your priority is for a daily commute wise then go for a diesel which gives a good mileage
SARVESHPANDEY | 6 years ago1 ReplyIt's depends upon how much you riding in a month,if your riding is not more than 1500km in a month, than go with petrol, maintenance cost is very low,no sound from engine, pickup is best

Difference between petrol and diesel Ex-showroom price for titanium+ variant differs only by 50k.For on-road price diff. is 60k. So I think diesel makes sense in this case.
Rajesh | 7 years ago1 ReplyDiesel Vehicle is anytime better. Although costly in owning it in the beginning the more you drive the more cost effective it turns out to be.. also diesel vehicle has greater life, good average, sturdy engine than petrol. Petrol vehicles have very less mileage specially in the city conditions.
Geo | 6 years ago0 ReplyIn my opinion Petrol version maybe better for hilly mountainous regions as pick-up is better with petrol engines. But for the plains any version will do.
Shailesh | 7 years ago1 ReplyPetrol engine is better ,low maintenance and good amount of power and torque. Also you get extra as compared to Diesel. And again buying a diesel car cost you extra near about Rs. 1 lac or more. Go for petrol version.
_923381 | 6 years ago0 ReplyIf you want average then diesel engine is the best however petrol automatic is the best for comfortable driving in bumper to bumper traffic.
Adventurous | 6 years ago0 ReplyDiesel is better. It gives me mileage of 17 in City and 21 on highway. Petrol versions are not so efficient
Nantha | 5 years ago0 ReplyBoth are good for ecosport as both th engine refined well. but please go for diesel to feel the midrange cruise
Shailesh | 6 years ago0 ReplyIt depends on how much will car run. If its less than 1000 km a month, go for petrol else by Diesel
Ravish | 5 years ago0 ReplyPetrol version is having 3 cylinder and that of diesel is 4 cylinder which is better.
