The Nissan Magnite has a lot of potential as a family car. It’s spacious, practical, well loaded and considering its aggressive pricing, it is a strong alternative to the low-mid range variants of its popular competitors. The Magnite gets two petrol engines a 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit and a 100PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. Both engines are available with a 5-speed manual as standard while the turbo-petrol engine also gets the option of a CVT. As you’d expect from a CVT, it’s buttery smooth practically everywhere. Even under hard acceleration, it does well to ensure the engine doesn’t whine and yell while the speeds play catchup. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive for a better understanding of performance and comfort. I've been using Swift for more than ten years and I feel the engine performance (pickup) is very poor compared to swift. It takes longer time to attain reasonable speed to avoide honking by vehicles behind at traffic signals. A slight extra acceleration alerts for over acceleration. Otherwise driving comfort is ok.
