I recently bought a Kia Sonet diesel Manual model just because of its good fuel efficiency, where the company has claimed 24 ARAI. But I never got a mileage of 20 with the best driving skills even on the highway and in city, it's very bad, which gives me around 13 and highway 16. my question is then when will I get 24, if not 24 at least 20? I feel Kia is cheating, if we consider the other vendors like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and Mahindra, I have experienced their mileage practically, with these vehicles, even in a city the mileage drops around 3-4 from their actual ARAI, and on the highway, the best mileage is obtained. Now we should really think about this because fuel prices are getting high and we plan for the best fuel efficiency vehicles, I suggest KIA is not included in this list. If KIA SONET is claiming 24 mileage of diesel manual, then I feel even in city it should give at least 18-20 and highway 22+ at least. but these numbers never reached. @KiaInd

In order to get better fuel efficiency returns from your car, there are some points that you can keep in mind while driving such as keeping a check on tyre air pressure, timely service your car, maintain proper gear to RPM ratio, do not accelerate the car unnecessarily, ride your bike at economical speeds, avoid hard/sudden braking, etc.Read More: - Driving tips to improve mileage

Even I am facing same problem with my Kia Sonet 1.0 iMT it’s the worst one with mileage of just 8.0 to 9.5 Kmpl in city and 12.5 to 14 Kmpl in highway. I have tried all the driving methods suggested by so called experts of Kia service and I am didn’t get any mileage improvement at all. This car is ripping me off… if you have very high income than only buy this car cause it’s going to cost you Rs. 12.5 per km. Pls don’t go after fuel economy figures of Arai this are totally misleading.

I am facing the same mileage issue with my Kia Sonet IMT. Reported to service as well but they have no solution However practically it's about 9-10 kmpl only in city and around 13-14 on highway. Please advise if someone has a solution other than the usual driving tips.

My 8 months old Sonet DCT has recently clocked 10K kms. but it has very very poor fuel efficiency. The dealer assured that after 3rd service ,the mileage shall improve .I tried every possible way to drive but in city it is 7-9 kmpl and on highway it gives about 11-12 kmpl. It is very difficult to maintain such fuel guzzler. seriously thinking to sell.

Even I am getting only 8 KM/LITTER in city with no traffic, This is very disappointing things, Company as well ARAI should declare real mileage reality of vehicle, they should not hide anything, If ARAI are hiding the reality then whom to trust we are middle class family we can't afford 4 wheeler but we are buying a car base on ARAI statements

Am also facing the same issue with Sonet 1.0 turbo charged IMT. Very poor mileage (9-10 kmpl), it is not what the Company claims. Regretting my decision to have upgraded to Sonet.

Yes, I am also facing same issue. I have KIA Sonet HTX Petrol IMT on 16th May 2022 and got first serviced on 16.06.2022. After that I am getting only 9 to 10 kmpl in city and in highway 11 to 12 maximum.

The mileage range is quite wide. I got the 1.0 liter DCT and the minimum mileage i have got is 8kmpl and the maximum of 18kmpl. The max figure was when i used a lot of cruise control on the journey. I always use Eco drive mode. I am practically scared to try anything else.

Same here, my GTX+ DCT gives 9-10 in city and 11-12 on highways and about 12-14 on expressways if cruise control is used and speed limit is under 80-90 kmh... Regret choosing the petrol engine
