Dear sir..initially there was doubt about dsg gear box and logitivity of engine in vento. That is solved. after 60000 you may have faulty abs or shock absorber replacement. Body work cost a lot as front bumpers and side panels comes in a piece.any problem will lead to replacement of entire side panel. Ground clearance is less so any accidental roll over big rocks can damage it ..radiator is too close to it. Doing service at intervals will do good..they will not call you!!

Buy manual version - first 3 services will cost you 14k per service, 4th service is around 28k because they change the timing belts. if you don't buy 5 years warranty then you will pay a lot of money to repair your car.

Hi there! Well, it is a great decision and I would definitely recommend you to go forward with the Vento. Maintenance is only on every 15,000 Km or 1 year, whichever comes first. And the cost of each service is approx. Rs.10,000/-

    Adequate bolstering

My Volkswagen Vento (diesel automatic and 2015 make) experience after driving 120, 000 kms.The Vento has an amazing driving experience that makes you carve corners. What I like the most about this car is its brilliant gearbox. The two modes of the gearbox are very smooth and refined with lighting quick shifts. The sporty feel of the car, the efficiency of the TDS engine and the quick-shifting DSG make it a mile muncher. Its been 7 years and I still find reasons to drive this amazing sturdy and safe car. In terms of the comfort level, The front seats are quite supportive with adequate bolstering. The rear seats are also good, However, The legroom is a little bit less compared to other cars in its segment. In fact, it is nowhere close to what my humble Honda Jazz offers. The best thing about Vento is that nobody can beat the driving pleasure. The sporty feel that it gives you is rare in this price bracket. The excellent boot space of 490 ltr. More than enough space for a family trip. Very safe and good build quality. Comes with dual front airbags. Using this car for more than 7 years but still there is no vibrations or rattling sound or any other plastic issues. Build quality is very good as compared to Honda and Maruti. The steering weighs up very well when you gain speed. Even after good sporty driving pleasure does not mean you get less average. In the city, you get an average of 18-19 km. While on the highway you get a very good average of around 25 kmpl. I have personally travelled from Pune to Udaipur (885kms) to pali (186kms) to Udaipur(186 kms). Overall 1200 kms in a full tank of 55 ltr.After-sales service is good. The service is prompt. The worst thing about Vento is it has fewer features than other cars like Maruti, Honda and Hyundai, but to me build quality and driving pleasure is more important than feature-rich cars which compromise on performance and handling. The maintenance cost is quite high. Below a lakh km, I was paying around 15k and 27k alternatively for the annual service. No major part changed during this period but after 1 lakh km in Dec 2020, a series of things happened. At 1.1 lakh km, I was driving the car and suddenly the flywheel got damaged. Had to tow the car and after analysis, They said both the flywheel and the multi-clutch were damaged. Got a bill of 97k. DSGs are unreliable. After driving another 7-8 months, I was getting another gearbox related issue in which the car was not moving in the drive mode. When analyzed they said, mechatronic is damaged. Need to change it. Got another bill of around 80k related to the gearbox in a year's time. Ac performance is quite sub-par. In a state like Rajasthan, on a hot day, the car struggles to cool the cabin. The area which requires improvement in the car is its service cost. Service costs should be lower. Parts cost is very high, especially the imported ones. The company should provide good tyres. Volkswagen group should come with robust ACs in a tropical country like India.

    Super safe

Vento is complete value for money, With a zippy 1.6 diesel engine, Super safe at high speeds, Being a sedan has a low cg which makes it very easy to handle on treacherous hilly roads, The quality of plastics in the interior and the leatherette used is very superior. After nine years of use it still feels new, It has given me a fuel economy of 17 kmpl in the city, 21 to 23 on the highway @ 100 to 130 speed, And uphill drive 17 to 18 and downhill drive 25 to 30 kmpl.Maint average cost is about 12k annual.
