Make sure you are riding in 5th gear. Check to see if there is white or black smoke emitting from the tailpipe. If it is a carbureted model, make sure the carb is tuned properly. If you load the bike with lots of heavy things, try unloading and doing a mileage test again. Check the fuel lines to see if there is a fuel leak. If it is a fuel injected model, take it to a competent mechanic and have him run diagnostics.
