Pune Girl Bags Title At Round One Of Honda All Ladies Race

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has kick-started the 2016 season of the Honda One Make Race Series at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. This year also marks the start of the first-ever full-fledged season of the Honda All Women Race. Emerging victorious in the first round of the race was Pooja Dabhi from Pune, who secured pole position and won the five-lap race with an overall time of 8:03:969 minutes. Dabhi was followed by Shruthi N from Chennai who secured second place who clocked a time of 8:04:529 minutes. She had also managed to set the fastest lap time of 1:23:691 minutes. The third position was secured by A Ryehane with an overall time of 8:10:097 minutes.
Commenting on the results, Prabhu Nagaraj, VP, customer service, HMSI, said: “The rapid strides the women riders has taken in such a short time, validates our decision to conduct the All Ladies Race for the entire season. My heartiest congratulations to Pooja, Shruthi, Ryehana and all the ladies who took to the grid today. We have high expectations from them for the future as well.”

The inaugural season of the Honda All Ladies Race consists of 10 women riders forming the grid. Trained at the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy, this new initiative aims at promoting more participation of women in Indian motorsport. The CBR 150R category is an open class category for riders who have received training from the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy or from other Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC) recognised training schools in the country. For this season, the Honda CBR 150R motorcycle was updated with a reprogrammed ECU and Endurance exhaust.
