Jeep comes with a 1956cc engine. It is equipped with a 2-litre turbo-diesel engine as seen on the Compass. Transmission options are a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic, however, the all-wheel drivetrain is exclusive to the top-end automatic variant. There is no petrol unit on offer as of now. is Jeep’s alternative to the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. Based on the Compass, this 7-seater SUV shares a lot of its interior, features and mechanical components with Jeep India’s mainstay but packages it with a different design and offers a different experience too. At launch, the Meridian is available only with a diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed automatic. Front wheel drive comes as standard while AWD is available with the 9-speed automatic transmission as well.
