Bajaj Auto is looking at expanding the Pulsar 200 range in India to give affordable performance bike buyers the option of picking either naked, adventure or sports variants of Bajaj Pulsar 200. The new range of Pulsars will include the existing Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS (Naked Street version); the much anticipated full fairing version called Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS (Super Sport) shown in the form of the Pulsar 400SS at the 2014 Auto Expo; and a new semi-faired Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS (Adventure Sport version). After being showcased internationally, the new Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS has been caught testing in India. The images suggest that the new Pulsar 200 AS will sport a semi-fairing up front, a single projector headlamp for high beam and a standard halogen bulb for low beam.
Bajaj hopes to get more takers for the new adventure tourer styled Pulsar 200 AS, than the naked street biker version - Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS which has received lukewarm response in India so far. It is likely that Bajaj will tap on the element of surprise and launch the new Pulsar 200 AS along with the much anticipated Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS next month. Bajaj Auto will be positioning the semi-faired version between the Pulsar 200 NS and the new Bajaj Pulsar SS, and could price the Pulsar200 AS around the Rs 1.2 lakh mark.
