Like other Apache BS6 motorcycles, the Apache RTR 180 gets Glide Through technology. This setup boosts revs when you begin to roll off to prevent the motor from stalling. This technology, previously seen only on large capacity motorcycles like the Suzuki GSX S1000. The first TVS motorcycles to get it were the  Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 and Apache RTR 200 4V BS6

The underpinnings remain unchanged:

The Apache RTR 180 BS6 continues to use the same telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorber setup. Braking is via the same 270mm petal disc and 200mm petal disc with single-channel ABS.

But dimensions have changed:

The wheelbase has reduced by 26mm and is 1300mm now. This should help make the Apache RTR 180 BS6 more flickable. TVS has increased the Apache RTR 180 BS6’s ground clearance by 5mm. It now is 170mm. At 141kg, it now weighs 2kg more due to the addition of fuel injection and a catalytic converter. The seat height is 790mm while fuel tank capacity is 12 litres.

Pricing has gone up:

The Apache RTR 180 BS6 now costs Rs 1,01,450 (ex-showroom Delhi). That’s a hike of Rs 6,704 over the TVS Apache RTR 180 BS4. It is available in just one variant. Competition comes in the form of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 Neon.
