British car maker MINI has inaugurated its first dealership in Delhi in collaboration with its long-time dealership partner Bird Automotive. Located in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi and spanning 5,000sq ft, the facility will deal with all MINI models in India. The dealership has a six-car display on its two floors.

The company has also introduced MINI financial services in the country, which will function as a separate unit under BMW financial services. “With the launch of Bird Automotive, we have brought MINI – the world’s most exciting premium small car brand to Delhi. MINI is more than just a car – it is a personality on wheels – a fashion statement – and a way of life. At MINI, the fun never stops. So, it is only natural that Delhi with its wonderful amalgamation of trends and tradition, fun and enduring spirit offers a perfect setting to the world’s most emotional auto brand,” said Andreas Schaff, President, BMW Group India.

Bird Automotive, the official after sales service, will cater to MINI customers through its workshop in Sector 14, Gurgaon. “We have been working with BMW Group India since 2007 and this association has been very successful and tremendously exciting. We are thrilled to be a part of the MINI celebration in India with the launch of the new MINI dealership by Bird Automotive in Delhi. We look forward to an enthusiastic response from our customers for the charismatic and exciting MINI,” said Gaurav Bhatia, Managing Director, Bird Automotive.

In view of the recent petrol price hike and hike in diesel car prices, Schaff said that there are no immediate plans of bringing in diesel powertrains for the brand in India but it may happen later. He said that the Mumbai dealership has already sold more than 50 vehicles in the last month and expects a similar response in New Delhi.
