Ciaz has got a 1500cc petrol engine which can give competition to 1500cc i vtec engine. If you have enough money to buy city vx or zx then go for honda city. But if you are on a budget then buy ciaz alpha instead of city with a lower varient like sv or v because these varients can not compete with ciaz alpha in terms of features

While Honda is a bigger brand, I think Ciaz is a Value for Money alternative. If I can afford Honda, I'll go for that otherwise value for money proposition is Ciaz. Even in maintenance cost, Ciaz scores over Honda.

Depends on what your priorities are. New Ciaz is very specious , has lot of options and value for money. But City is the drivers car, best driving pleasure car in the segment.
