For cars confident with their good safety ratings, they have already done the crash tests and publish the ratings like TATA did with Nexon and with Altroz even before launch. KIA on the other hand is loading more and more features to attract customer base however skipped part of driver's and passenger's safety. It's a question when a bigger SUV SELTOS scored just 3 starts out of 5, pretty easy to calculate how many will Seltos score. We Indians don't even consider safety while choosing cars, I believe that should be the first filter we should apply while selecting cars we should buy.

Was laughing for 5 min after reading the reply.. Sir-not sure what are you trying to prove a point here.. Mayank is clear in his message that Kia has proved his safety which is very true after seeing few accidents (not just one but more). If you rate entertainment features are more important for you than safety then its your choice.. but I would recoment to many to consider safety higher than anything else.. Kia needs to understand this and no doubt their vehicles and features are awesome compared to other cars.. They need to question themselves why are they not have those strong steel bars(platform) mainly in india where they have it for international models.

I was planning to buy kia sonet but now changed after seeing recent accident in thoppur (near salem tn)on December 12 2020, where 12 cars were hit by track . Kia sonet was very very badly damaged where two people in car died. Just browse in you tube or face book to see accident clip. Search for thoppur accident in fb for more clip.

Kia has already bagged nearly close to one lac bookings. Now, even if the safety ratings of Kia Sonet comes low, it would not matter them much because they have played smart here and they have already made prty decent market of Sonet. If the NCAP ratings of Sonet would have come low initially, it would have been really difficult for them to establish Sonet the way they have done now.This clearly shows that Sonet would not score as much as Nexon has as far as NCAP ratings are concerned.

Kia safety specially made for Indian roads are compromised with those available outside India , there are no steel safety bars for Indian models , whereas extra safety steel bars are available for international models , I fail to understand why??

I think you should stop driving. If you’re going to buy a car to see the crash conditions, might as well not buy. People buy cars to commute and enjoy the drive. Better buy an ambassador, it’s extremely safe.

The Kia Sonet was a great sucess because the Indian customers believed Kia Sonet would be similar to Kia Seltos which was previously 5 start rated. If they don’t keep up with safety standards brand confidence would be lost. Customer are more informative nowadays. Nobody would buy a car to die. Safety can not be compromised at any cost...

An answer to Alvin: If you are the only one sitting inside the car and driving then it okay to have car with no safety or depends on your wish. But if your family members are also using car then you are wise enough to image what I am trying to say.
