The Hyundai Venue will be available with three powertrain options, most notably a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual. A new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission developed in-house will also be available with this new engine. The other petrol engine is the familiar 1.2-litre unit found on hatchbacks like the Elite i20 and Grand i10 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Diesel variants are powered by Hyundai’s 1.4-diesel engine with an output of 90PS and 220Nm while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

  • Q. Is it true that DCT cars will have complaint in future than the manual and DCT is not reliable - Venue?
    Mayank

@ Bansilal | Any response to Mayank question will greatly help new buyers

I have researched for Kia Seltos as I have pre-booked it's DCT top variant. It is a dry clutch system and there has been a case of the DCT seltos buyer which has shown screenshot of transmission overheat in bumper to bumper traffic. Well to be frank DCT's are like advanced automatics and much more efficient but everything has it's own pros and cons and here DCT's con is heating issue only. It is how you drive a DCT. Talking about Hyundai Venue DCT it is clearly mentioned in it's owner manual so as to what precautions to take while driving DCT variant either on hills or in bumper to bumper traffic. But I read Kia Seltos owner manual which doesn't even tell what DCT type is there. For buyers like me out there, I will be test driving diesel AT top end GT line variant too as prices for both Petrol and Diesel are same for top end.

    Zigwheels | 3 months ago

The Hyundai Venue 1.0-liter motor is turbocharged which has no comparison to the other engine as itis the most power-packed offering. Moreover, the Hyundai Venue's DCT transmission is a 7-speed gearbox is the smoothest and the slickest unit among the segment. The car is a delight to the city as well as the highways as the 7 speed DCT is a very intelligent unit for the optimum performance of the car. However, the manual transmission is all about the control under the driver as the car's response would depend on the driver's driving style.Read More:-Hyundai Venue Review: First Drive

  • Q. Which one is better Hyundai Venue top model (petrol-automatic) or Honda WR-V top model (petrol-manual)?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 4 months ago

Hyundai Venue's SX Plus Turbo DCT variant of the car will be a great choice in terms of advanced features, comfortable interiors, better ergonomics and a punchier engine. Moreover, the 7-speed DCT transmission is a delight in the city traffic as well as on the Highways. Honda WRV is a crossover and is a great choice for people looking for a hatch with better ground clearance and features. The only down log is that the WRV is only available in the manual transmission. However, the choice of the perfect vehicle can only be exhibit after sitting behind the steering wheel, therefore we would suggest you to take a test drive of both the cars so that you may get a clarified view regarding both the cars.Click here for the dealership: https://www.zigwheels.com/dealers

  • Q. In Venue 6 speed manual transmission in which speed to shift gears for better performance?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 2 weeks ago

The 1.4-litre diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission in Hyundai Venue. Now, the diesel engines operate at lower RPMs and provide better high low-end torque compared to a petrol engine. The gear shifts can be made keeping in mind the RPM levels and when the RPM hits 2500 mark or lower depending on the driveability. The 6-speed manual gearbox has short throws and shifts are precise and reasonably smooth. Out on the highway, it’s similarly relaxed, with the engine just ticking over at a leisurely 1900rpm at 100kmph. Power output is 90PS@4000rpm and 220Nm1500-2750rpm. In our tests, it managed the 0-100 sprint in 12.49s and in our efficiency tests it returned 18.95kmpl in the city and 19.91kmpl on the highway run.

That would depend on your preference for the fuel type and usage of the car. If you are looking for a smooth automatic diesel car with a frugal engine option, then you can opt for Maruti Vitara Brezza. The 1.3-litre DDiS200 diesel unit that makes 90PS of power and 200Nm of peak torque coupled with a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The Vitara Brezza has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 24.3kmpl. On the other hand, if you are looking for a fun-to-drive petrol car with a powerful engine, then you may got with the Hyundai Venue. Venue gets a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 120PS/172Nm mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In order to know which car would be a more suitable companion, we'd recommend taking a test drive.
