• Q. I am looking for a diesel automatic at around 10, lakh. Currently owns a Vento Highline. Short listed cars are Amaze and Swift. Heard that Swift has ver poor safety features and bad suspension . Can someone help me in decision?

    Both are obsolete, I suggest you go for the kia seltos from the Hyundai parent. ( kia is owned by Hyundai). Base diesel version is well equipped, with disc brakes, power windows, projector headlamps, ABS, EBD, BS6 diesel engine at ex showroom price of ₹9.68 lakhs giving 21 kmpl. Go to kia showroom & fall in love with the seltos. For the automatic diesel, you have to cough up ₹1lakh more than the manual variant.

    Amaze is better with CVT gear box unlike AMT in Swift. But both are not so good for Highway driving. If you are not travelling more than 2500 km in a month, better avoid diesel cars. Aspire automatic petrol is more safe and also a fun to drive vehicle, with considerably lesser mileage.
