Q. Despite of being a good car in this price range and with the powerful Fiat engine, why is it not a commonly selling car in India? I cant find any Freestyles on road as common as WRV or Ecosport? Does it have any other drawbacks?

Good question. In Europe and USA....you will find very few Suzuki cars. Suzuki mania is only in India because most Indian customers are stingy and kitna deti hai types. The only drawback of Freestyle is that it is being sold in India, where Maruti Suzuki has been making a monkey out of customers with paper thin bodies and mileage. It is worth taking a look at the fate of Maruti Suzuki cars that meet accidents. Nissan is another giant brand that makes superb cars and sells a huge amount of vehicles in Europe and the USA. How many Nissan vehicles do we see in India? We should never judge a vehicle by the numbers they sell in a low quality and low safety market like India where many are only fit to drive autorickshaws. Look at the accidents on Indian roads - we have the highest accident rate in the world.

Freestyle is a very new entry to the Indian market. People still have an impression that ford is expensive to maintain, which is no more true. Freestyle also lacks an automatic variant. Most people are inclined to Maruti, Hyundai and Honda due to their presence in the market for a long time. Nowadays there is a huge improvement in number of ford figo and aspire car sales. Similarly people when they come to know about the freestyle and its value for money, the sales will improve slowly and steadily.

I didn't found any drawbacks in freestyle, infact u won't find hill launch assist, traction control,active roll over protection in any car within the budget of below 8 lacs. 96 PS of power and I'm drawing a mileage of 18+ kmpl , I don't use it too much in city traffic, in city u can expect a mileage of around 14 kmpl.
