BMW has begun assembly of the all-new 5 Series at its Chennai facility.The next-generation of the 5 Series will be launched in India on June 29. Bookings for the luxury sedan are already underway at dealerships across the country. The new 5 Series will be offered with three engine options; a 252PS/350Nm 2.0-litre petrol, a 190PS/400Nm 2.0-litre diesel and a 265PS/620Nm 3.0-litre diesel. Features on offer will include remote parking control, gesture control, four-zone automatic air-conditioning and a touchscreen infotainment system. We expect the new 5 Series to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 70 lakh, taking on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and Volvo S90.
