Q. I am confuse between 520d and 530i which is more better - 5 Series?
  • Firstly the BMW 5 Series 520d is a diesel car. Whereas, the 530i variant is a petrol car. The power delivery is 190bhp and 252bhp respectively. As far as the mileage is concerned, they are 22.48 kmpl and 15.01 kmpl respectively. For a detailed comparison, follow the below link - Compare. If you drive less than 1500 km a month (50kms a day), you don’t need a diesel. The petrol engine is a lot more refined and is a lot more quiet and powerful. Yes, the diesel is more efficient, but it doesn’t mean it is cheaper to have a diesel engine unless you have a lot of running. Diesel is cheaper to run. But diesel cars are more expensive. If you do not have too much running, petrol makes it an ideal pick. Moreover, you can have a test drive of the cars for a better idea of comfort and drive quality by visiting the nearest dealer in your city. Q. Which is best Audi A6, Jaguar XF, BMW 5 series or Mercedes Benz E Class.
  • The Audi A6 is a well-engineered sedan that offers just about everything that one would expect from a car of this class. The key exterior features of Note include the LED matrix headlamps, electrically operated sliding and tilt sunroof, and large 18-inch alloy wheels. The design of XF is typical of a Jaguar with characteristic slim headlamps, dominating grill, large alloys, and Coupe-like roof. The cabin is well-appointed too and the features like a heads-up display, in-car Wi-Fi, and touchscreen infotainment system with apps makes the Journeys comfortable and seamlessly connected. Moreover, the BMW 5 Series is a well-appointed and tech-laden executive sedan that is fully loaded for the luxury car buyer as well as the enthusiast. As for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it is the bestseller from the Mercedes-Benz stable, the E Class is a definitive statement marking your arrival in life. The E-Class offers standout looks, good build quality, safety features, and is loaded with tech. In order to know which car would be a more suitable companion, we'd recommend taking a test drive. Over the years I have had the good fortune of owning a variety of brands- Maruti, Hyundai, VW, Skoda, Mercedes and most recently BMW 5 series, which undoubtedly is the best driving experience. I like to drive and the 5 series is sheer pleasure. However, BMW’s dealer in Ranchi is not a shadow of who they represent. Here’s my experience: they started on a high note- unrelenting phone calls until payment was collected. They give me a date to take delivery. Since I live in Jamshedpur (about 170 kms from the dealership), to make sure before arriving, I ask for a copy of Temporary Permit (TP). They go -that’s not done yet but ‘chalte hai’- everyone takes delivery without one. I ask how about insurance cover, God forbid, in case of an accident without TP. They say- that’s your risk! Obviously, I postpone the delivery until the following week when they confirm that TP is done. On the day, after a flimsy ritual of (third class) cake cutting ceremony, they hand me the keys with a photo copy of an un-signed, un-stamped TP! As much as I am aghast, I have no option but to drive a new car with technically no legal paper of registration and ownership. They promise to have the signed copy of the TP sent within 48 hrs, which after 41 days I still haven’t received! Now, here’s the kicker- my TP expired on Aug 29 and the car has no registration; hence a 60 lac car now sits pretty in my garage while I use a Ola to get to work!So in summary BMW ought to do better in their selection of dealership, lest they risk erosion of their hard-earned brand equity. To all the BMW lovers in Jharkhand and Bihar, stay away from Titanium.
