Q. How much better it is than new swift - Micra?
- Well talking purely on engines...the swifts 1.2k series petrol is a gem and is miles ahead in terms of refinement but from experience when coming to real time(not the claims of maruti) mileage you get around 13-14kmpl...in case of the Nissan its a 3 cylinder so you will have to cope up with the engine noise and vibration but its extremely good for the city...the low and torque is nice and the gearbox is tuned perfectly for the city use..the mileage figures i get are around 16-17kmpl... both the diesels are good the swifts is the tried and tested fiat sourced 1.3 mill whereas that of the nissan is the 1.5dci..the swift has significant turbo lag whereas the nissan does not..coming to space overall fit and finish both are at par..but the swifts cabin looks a bit more appealing but looks are purely based on the viewers concepts...the advantage the micra has is the overall airiness and view...its huge windows make the car extremely non claustrophobic and aids in reversing and parallel parking..coming to body the Nissan is a solidly build car...there are huge body gaps but can guarantee that the car has a strong body...the swift case is different its based on the heartect platform which aims in weight reduction..they have claimed that the cars are much safer but i cant guarantee anything as most maruti use smaller gauge sheet metals...the maruti has another plus point of low maintenance better resale value and wider service network and since there is also a chance that a new Micra present from the European market may come to India..i would suggest you either wait for the new micra or buy a swift now as it is a new model...
- Built quality is better in micra. But maintenance cost is anytime lesser for swift and so is the resale value.
Q. Which is better AMT OR CVT. When I search for best automatic car in India, Nissan micra with CVT is not listed. Why? Is it a good car to buy?
- AMT is a technology, which takes away clutch operation from the car driver. Essentially it's the same manual gearbox requiring same pattern of servicing. Manual selection of gears are provisioned here.CVT doesn't have clutch and couples transmission & engine with torque converter. This torque converter is basically a fluid transmission and avoids engine stalling . Also, it provides few torque for creep motion and provides a good anti roll back action during uphill start. There is no j**k like thing and overspeeding of engine.Nissan offers CVT in Datsun GO, GO+ and Micra (not Micra active) with 1.2L petrol engine. It's one of the lowest price package of CVT in the market.

I am very satisfied with micra.It’s cockpit is superb and stearing wheel is soft rotate.Average of the vehicle on highway is 16 to 18 km with ac and approximate 13 to 15 in city.It’s digital ac’s performance is superb.About price with performance, I give 8 out of 10.

One of the best hatchback car.I have never experienced break down on the road.Driven 110000km over period of 12 years.Yearly once service is enough.Service cost around 6000 yearly.Smooth and peppy engine.Head room is one of the best.Thigh support not good.Average around 17-18 on highway.
