Breaking: Hero Mavrick 440 Unveiled, Full Specifications Revealed

Hero MotoCorp has finally unveiled its highly anticipated Mavrick 440 at the Hero World 2024. Sporting a, you guessed it, 440cc engine, the Hero Mavrick 440 is Hero’s biggest-capacity bike. It is based on the Harley-Davidson X440 but looks different and aims to have its own identity.

The Hero Mavrick 440 is a neo-retro roadster-style motorcycle, featuring a muscular and sporty design. It showcases a sculpted metal tank with beefy tank extensions, metal fenders, and brushed metal finish on the side panels (only for the top-end variant), enhancing its overall muscular styling. The Mavrick 440 gets a spacious sculpted single-piece seat with 60mm foam cushioning and has wide handlebars for a comfortable riding stance. It features a sharper exhaust, which in our opinion, looks better than the one in the X440. At the back, the somewhat stubby tail section is complemented by a lengthy number plate holder with integrated indicators.

Here are the key highlights of the Hero Mavrick 440:

• Air-/oil-cooled 440cc SOHC single-cylinder engine

• 27.3PS at 6000rpm (same as X440) and 36Nm at 4000rpm (2Nm less than the X440)

• 90 percent of the peak torque at accessible from 2000rpm, same as the X440

• 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch

• All-LED lighting setup includes an LED projector headlight that automatically lights up, depending on the ambient lighting

• Negative LCD display with smartphone connectivity

• It offers turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, digital clock, low fuel indicator, distance to empty, estimated time of arrival (ETA), and a phone battery indicator

• Also gets e-Sim connectivity that provides access to live tracking and 35 other features via the Connected 2.0 tech.

• 13.5-litre fuel tank capacity, same as the Harley X440

• Built on a trellis frame

• 43mm telescopic fork and 7-step preload-adjustable twin shocks, both with 130mm wheel travel

• 17-inch wheels wrapped with 110-section (front) and 150-section (rear) zero-degree steel belted radial tyres from MRF

• 803mm seat height (2mm less than the X440)

• 175mm ground clearance (5mm more than the X440)

• The alloy variant weighs 187kg, spoked variant is 191kg while the X440 weighs 190.5kg

The Mavrick 440 will be available in three variants. The base variant with the Arctic White colour gets spoked wheels, while the mid-spec variants, available in either Celestial Blue or Fearless Red, comes with a dual-tone paint scheme and alloy wheels. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line variant gets Phantom Black and Enigma Black colour schemes, fitted with machined alloy wheels and machined engine fins, along with connectivity as standard.

Hero has not disclosed the pricing details yet, but we expect the bike to be priced at around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. Booking of the Hero Mavrick 440 will start in February, shortly followed by the price announcements, and Hero promises to start deliveries by April 2024.

The Mavrick 440 competes against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda H’ness CB 350, Jawa 42 and Yezdi Roadster. More powerful neo-retro offerings like the Triumph Speed 400 or the Honda CB300R can also be considered alternatives.
