2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: India-spec Model Engine And Mileage Figures Leaked!

• 2024 Swift to get new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in India. 
• Develops 82PS and 112Nm, which is 8PS and 1Nm less than the outgoing four-cylinder unit. 
• Claimed fuel efficiency sees an improvement at 25.72kmpl, around 3kmpl more than before. 
• Prices to be announced on May 9. 

The engine and mileage details of the new-gen 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift have been leaked ahead of its launch on May 9. And based on these leaked documents, the Swift will get big changes underneath the hood. The Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024’s teaser campaign has begun in India and pre-launch bookings are open. 

These leaked documents confirm that the new-gen Swift will get the new 82PS 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the 90PS four-cylinder unit. While the new engine might be low on power, its 25.72kmpl (likely to be petrol-MT) mileage figure makes it more fuel efficient than before.

Internationally, the new three-cylinder engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT, but the latter could be favoured for an AMT in India to keep costs in check. It also remains to be seen if the new-gen Swift will get a CNG option from day one of its introduction.
