Mahindra Flags Off Bharat Drive With The Scorpio N And India’s Leading Automotive Journalists

Mahindra, in partnership with the Automotive Journalists Association of India (AJAI) and JK Tyre, has launched an initiative called the 'Bharat Drive', to showcase India's infrastructural development across the country. This event features top auto journos driving the Mahindra Scorpio-N to various landmarks and major cities across the nation. 

The Bharat Drive commenced with a ceremonial flag-off at Mahindra's manufacturing facility in Kandivali, Mumbai (Maharashtra). Founders and members of AJAI attended the event, alongside editors from twelve prominent automotive publications. Notably, our bossman Ameya Dandekar, editor, ZigWheels, attended the ceremony and will be participating in this drive. 

This Bharat Drive initiative’s primary objective will be to highlight notable landmarks of national significance and infrastructural marvels across the country, including India's newest expressway connecting Ahmedabad and Vadodara (Gujarat), the Samruddhi Mahamarg (Maharashtra), the world's largest solar project at Bhadla (Rajasthan), and the remarkable Sela tunnel (Connecting Guwahati and Arunachal Pradesh) which is situated at a staggering 13,000 feet above sea level. Each of these sites represents substantial advancements in boosting economic growth, connectivity and convenience throughout the country.

To shed some light on what AJAI is, the Automotive Journalists Association of India (AJAI) is a newly formed body which unites top media professionals in the automotive sector nationwide to collectively address the industry affairs. AJAI also focuses on mentoring young automotive journalists and supporting industry veterans. Additionally, AJAI is the proud custodian of the prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) Awards.
