An electronic parking brake and ADAS might be the major deletions from the international model to keep costs in check

The highly anticipated 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, is all set to land on our shores in a couple of months. Yes, it will be bringing a new design, and an even more premium cabin to the table. That being said, one can expect a few feature deletions from the international model to keep costs in check. Here’s a short list of features we reckon might not make it to the India-spec model upon its launch later this year.

All-wheel-drive

For the international markets, the Suzuki Swift is offered with an optional all-wheel-drive variant (with an automatic transmission only), useful when the weather becomes cold and slippery road conditions.  This will be given the axe in the Indian model.

ADAS

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift

The international-spec Suzuki Swift was introduced with ADAS Level 2 features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor,  Enhanced Traffic Sign Recognition and an additional Driver Monitoring System. All these driving aids might be omitted to keep costs in check.

The Swift gets heated seats, a very useful comfort feature considering how cold it gets during the winters overseas. But considering that most places in India are hot, it will be eliminated for the Indian model.

Electronic Parking Brake

Another feature which may not make it to the Indian models is the electronic parking brake with auto hold, once again, to keep costs in check. Rather, a manual hand-brake setup is likely to be found on the Maruti Suzuki Swift upon its arrival.

360 Degree Camera

Internationally, the Swift is equipped with a 360 degree camera with front and rear parking sensors. Upon its India-launch, this might be given the boot along with front parking sensors. One can expect it to be offered with just the rear parking camera and sensors.

When it is launched later this year, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to be priced between Rs 6 lakh - Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival models such as the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
