I brought a new Fiat Grande Punto Emotion Pack, diesel three months back. The quality of finish compared to its competitors is poor. Just recently my car self start motor failed, which distrubed me a lot and i started thinking whether i made a mistake choosing fiat. Fine car, but prices are little on highier side. Recently the company incresed the price by 5000/- on all the models without any prior notice. This is not fair. Other companies are(Hundai) are providing so many discounts like,loyality/exchange bonus ,free insurence, assessories etc. No body will go for PUNTO. The management should think of it and the prices should be properly adjusted. | Reply

AN OPEN LETTER TO CEO OF FIAT INDIA Sir,I appreciate your effort to revamp the poor reputation of Fiat in India before, Fiats Superb Cars Uno , Palio , Siena etc had failed to catch up just because of the poor service and offcourse high priced spares. After a short gap now you company is back in India. We people who belived the Fiat and who bought your cars are stil left out as orphans! DO you have any answer to this when your company men approach us with your "NEW PRODCUTS" ? Stopping production of a car is normal But we belive that the it is the companies responisbility to ensure the production and supply of SPARES! It is not just like buying dress!. Later if your company again run away after selling Linea or Punto whom should we approach?? Products Like UNO are still in prodcution in SA and Brazile, Why couldnt you source the matching spare to India So that Fiat can gain the lost trust of people of INDIA. Why you are not in a position to delcare that your own old products will be serviced and will make available of the spares for your own old (not that old !) vehilce, on the other hand your company comes with new products without even muttering a single word on the past happenings!.Here is a suggestion The Bio Flex Uno of Brazile can be launched in india as competetor for Maruthi's Alto (the largest sellling car) Sure the look and Quality of UNO is far ahead of Alto.AND be Bold to delacre "Fiat will take responsibility of OUR OWN vehicles"I wish you a great success this time. | Reply

Fiat Punto is extremely good both in design as well as the specifications. I think the coist is a bit high when compared to any other cars already on road. Especially with Swift, Dzire, i20. But I did take a test drive its really good. So I just booked my Punto Diesel and came back. | Reply

Now it's upto Fiat to justify the admiration created by it's baby Grande Punto, ie Punto in India, by improving service, spares availability. You know what Italians are known for? like Indians marrying only once in a lifetime and commiting to it through life. | Reply

Driving Punto 1.3 Multijet (Emotion PKl)for last 6 days. Amazing experience and Top features. Surely gives inferiority complex to Swifts, Desires, Vistas, i20 and many sedans on road. Stuning design which surely is a head turner on road. Anyone doubts regarding quality are misplaced. It is going to be hit in India. JAZZ is nothing but bloated ego of Honda. My advise is just drive Punto once and you will forget JAZZ. A true value for money. | Reply

I think prices are high as compared to Maruti Swift Diesel. Fiat should look in to the prices to catch the market. | Reply

Fiat Punto is an excellent car available in the market today as compared to other cars. The service form TATA for FIAT vehicles is VERY GOOD. I don't know why site like this creates doubt about this. Guys take a test drive and check yourself, U will love it. | Reply

We all know that maruti ritz and swift has same engine, in your comparision chart 1.3 multijet GP with others you have mention 11.4 km for ritz and 12.4 for swift, hence all your milege chart is not true | Reply
  • Mac (18 June 2009 14:02)
The Average show in comparision is quit different, according to my studies, the averade of 1.3 punto is above 21KMPL, which is pastes here as 16. KMPL. and similarly for petrol version. This is showing wrong picture of Punto and so as Fiat. Dear Zigwheel we are not hoping shuch a blunder from such a good website. | Reply

Zigwheels if you are journos, you should know that Linea is the saloon version of GP and its not the other way around as your video suggests and obviously they are the same cars and interiors would be the same as well. I am not happy with the review as Punto is possibly the best small car in india to date. | Reply

Punto seems to be great experience. My fingers crossed over price, if it comes within 4.5 lacs, it will boom in market otherwise as usual Maruti cars are available for cheaper price. Even the launch was delayed it would have been atleast 6 months earlier. | Reply

Now it's upto Fiat to justify the admiration created by it's baby Grande Punto, ie Punto in India, by improving service, spares availability. You know what Italians are known for? like Indians marrying only once in a lifetime and commiting to it through life. | Reply

Already the basic version in UK costs 6000 pounds (roughly 4 lakhs), so my guess is it would be in the range of 4 to 5.5 lakhs for both petrol and diesel. | Reply
  • Rajesh Dass (12 June 2009 17:29)
No doubt Punto is going to be a great car. It's success in India depends on pricing. They should bring it somewhere between 4.5-5.75L for both petrol and diesel. | Reply

I think Fiat Grand Punto is going to rock and may capture the lost market provided the car is reasonably priced keeping in view the availability of B segment cars currently available in the market and those goint to be in the market upto December 2009. Car is surely goint to meet the expectations of B segment buyers. Good luck to Fiat. | Reply
  • Saurabh KG (08 June 2009 15:55)
Everything is fine about Grande Punto (GP) but service network is still the issue, if you compare with Maruti, Hyundai vehicles. But compared to Toyota, Honda etc. FIAT is better in this department also. On thing I saw in GP picture that, it has only 1 side rear Reverse Gear signal, that too very lowly placed. This makes car very very Risky. FIAT must see to this. | Reply

Fiat do make good cars all ovr the world but they are not offering their best in INDIA. They are not only bringing their bestsellers late, but I also doubt the quality of the components supplied in India. Please donot be fooled by their success stories in other parts of the world because you are not getting the same quality in India. Also their after sales service was really pathetic and now it is with TATA which also doesn't seem to bother much about Fiat customer. Please answer the question yourself, TATA today is the no. 1 car seller in terms of no. of vehicles sold, do they have the time to listen to Fiat customer. | Reply

Punto will have to compete directly with existing models such as the Maruti Swift, Ritz and Dzire....and Skoda Fabia....also soon to be launched Hyundai i20 1.4 Crdi, VW Polo Diesel......altough i expect top notch quality and driveability from the fiat....pricing will be very important.....somewhere close to 6 lacs should make it hugely popular. | Reply

@ Veeru BangaloreTata would continue to service Fiats for over 10 years more. I own a Fiat Linea FIRE and am extremely satisfied with the car. It has great road presence and is the best sedan available in the market. Grande Punto is one of the best Fiat ever produced. It has great looks and the Indian Grande Punto , according to an insider, would also be the best in class. | Reply

Ooops!!,, This the car that turned the fortunes for Fiat and pulled Fiat out of Bankurupt. There must be something special in this vehicle otherwise all admirers of this car may not be wrong. Going by Linea, Fiat has improved the quality of the interiors very well, not to mention drivability and durability of Fiats. The question is, how long Tata will continue to service Fiats..?? Otherwise I am the first one to buy. I feel Grande Punto should be priced sensibally to achive volumes...!! | Reply

Zigwheel and most of the other magzines gives paid reviews. I have seen the reviews on T.V also called RAFTAAR and all. They all are crap. I believe the test drive people do not know how to drive and what is driving pleasure all about. Guys just do not get confused with Zigwheels and all. Drive Punto. You will come to know about the driving pleasure and sharp turns. Punto is the best hatch in its segment. You will always feel confident while driving it. After all its drive by wire. This guy has some minimum speed for every gear, you do not need to press accelerator in Traffic jams. You can drive this beauty like a automatic transmission car. I am driving my punto multijet for last 1 months and its superb. Mileage in City 18 and on high way 24 (at 80 KMPH) I am getting. There are so many features which most of the cars does not offer like instantaneous fuel consumption and many more. | Reply
