Apparently one needs to be very careful while using the clutch as it seems to wearout within no time. I had to replace the entire clutch plate within 11 months of purchase and the worst part is that it is not covered under warranty. The service centre cited the reason for the failure for the clutch burn out, to my driving style!which they claim is not appropriate for the car. I have been driving for almost 15 years and have driven over 4 different car models in the past. Ltd, Gurgaon, firstly the buying experience was very bad, they called us at 6:30pm to deliver the vehicle and it was delivered at 8:45pm. I along with my family had to wait there for more than 2hrs. But misery starts after that, exactly after car’s A.C. stopped functioning and we were asked to bring vehicle to service centre and they repaired it and again after 6-7 days A.C. stopped and they kept vehicle there for 2 days to repair. A new vehicle repeatedly giving trouble and dealer was also very unserious about delivery timing. Again on 1st service dealer service centre, but black paint spots on the whole car and sent the car. After repeated reminder and requests for 8 days they told us this is paint from nearby car which was being painted for antirust and again they picked up vehicle and half of the paint was removed still spots are their. Even paint of the car is coming out from many places near door handles, bonnet etc. Today on 2nd July Car’s central locking started giving trouble out of the four doors only three are getting locked, 4th remains open even after locking. They keep making too many mistakes.I have a month old Punto Emotion Diesel and on days I stay awake wondering how will I get parts for a car which I spent 6.41 Lakhs for.One part has already gone bad and Tata Motors service advisor told me it will take around 10 days to get the part, and he said it like it happens every day. BTW the rear door latch failed and I probably did not realize that the door was not even locking as I rarely use the rear seat. And interestingly, there is no way to manually lock the door in case the remote fails. I own punto multijet Active from last four months and 6400 kms done so far and I love the way it drives and excellent cornering. Can take on swift diesel in 3rd and 4rth gear. It is the safest Car I beleive on rad in India presently considering the price. Yesterday while comming from dehradun I met a serious accedent which my Car took in a brilliant way. While overtaking Honda Accord, the honda driver by mistake suddenly presssed breaks instead of accelerator which he admitted later(very nice family guy). I was just 3 to 4 mtrs behind hime overtaking at a speed of 90 km/h. Now you can imagine the condition. When I pressed my breaks, the car almost came to 35 to 40 km/h speed in the given space and hit the Honda Accord directly from back. The result of this collision was, Hond Accord rear bumper came out. As we had put on the seat belts so no injuries happened and inside the cabin the jurk was very low, I dont know where the energy generated during the collision went. I thought I would be having a serious damage in the front. When I came out of the car and lokked at my bumper, there was few Honda bumper paint marks but no damage at all. It seems like it was pressed back ward and came to its original position. The collision did not reach to my bonnet. Thanks to big bumper after the bonnet. I really thanks Fiat to built such a safe care with safety stnadard of 5 star. Even the breaking was rock solid. Along with God, fiat saved me from injuries. I can tell you in comparison because damage was sever in our old zen with it met with almost same incident. There must be some thing in your car because at 4000 rpm my punto goes 165 kmph. Till 140kmph it moves easily but after that it takes time to reach 165 kmph. This was in night on NH-1 between panipat and ambala. and yes at this speed the rpm is around 4000only. also i touch easily 100 at 1700 rpm. just shared with you. The car had some issues and Icalled up the Fiat helpline and they initially asked me to take the car tonearest service station. I told the representative that there were doubts,if it could reach the service station without any hassles. He immediatelygot me on hold and got the nearest dealer in conference. Guys from the service center (ELEGANT at Patparganj, New Delhi) were at myplace within 15 minutes. They gave me immediate attention. Braking and Handling on corners of Punto is exemplary. I don`t know why people cry about it`s slow pick up before turbo kicks in because the torque is available for high speed driving. I`ve driven Punto upto 160 kmph on Mum-Pune E`way and it is rock solid. I20 starts rattling at 135 kmph. Steering in Punto is perfectly balanced. Not too light or heavy. I20 steering isn`t that refined. But compared to Toyota, Honda etc. FIAT is better in this department also. On thing I saw in GP picture that, it has only 1 side rear Reverse Gear signal, that too very lowly placed. This makes car very very Risky. They are not only bringing their bestsellers late, but I also doubt the quality of the components supplied in India. I have seen the reviews on T.V also called RAFTAAR and all. They all are crap. I believe the test drive people do not know how to drive and what is driving pleasure all about. Guys just do not get confused with Zigwheels and all. Drive Punto. You will come to know about the driving pleasure and sharp turns. Punto is the best hatch in its segment. You will always feel confident while driving it. After all its drive by wire. This guy has some minimum speed for every gear, you do not need to press accelerator in Traffic jams. You can drive this beauty like a automatic transmission car. I am driving my punto multijet for last 1 months and its superb. Mileage in City 18 and on high way 24 (at 80 KMPH) I am getting.
