Proceeds from the Bond Edition SUV and one of the ten Defenders used in the film went to over 45 charities

  • Launched last year, the Defender Bond Edition gets an all-black exterior and ‘007’ badging.

  • It was offered with a single 525PS supercharged V8 engine.

  • The Defender 110 stunt car fetched Rs 1.7 crore at Christie's charity auction.

  • Proceeds will assist the British Red Cross and Tusk among other charities.

A Land Rover Defender 110 Bond Edition and an actual stunt car used in the Bond film have been sold and auctioned for charity at Christy’s ‘60 Years of James Bond’ event in the UK. The two SUVs have helped raise the equivalent of Rs 3.2 crore to help over 45 charitable causes including the British Red Cross.

Land Rover Defender Bond Edition

The Defender Bond Edition was built by the SV Bespoke division of Land Rover. It was offered in 90 and 110 body styles with blacked-out exteriors, blue brake callipers and ‘007’ badging inside and out.

Only 300 units of the special edition SUV were produced; the 110-series SUV sold for charity cost the equivalent of Rs 1.48 crore. The UK-spec unit has a unique ‘60 years of Bond’ logo on the dashboard end cap.

A 5-litre supercharged V8 was the only engine option available in the Defender Bond Edition. Tuned for 525PS, it’s enough to get this heavy, long-wheelbase SUV (an even longer Defender 130 is available now) from 0-100kmph in 5.2 seconds.

Defender Stunt Car Auctioned

One of ten Defender stunt cars from the Bond film No Time To Die has been auctioned by Christie’s for charity. The 110-series SUV was specially modified with a roll-cage and additional fuel tank. It was seen in action scenes in the movie and its vehicle identification number (VIN) ends with ‘007’. It was auctioned for Rs 1.71 crore.
