Honda Dio 125 is powered by a 123.97cc air-cooled mill with Idling Stop System, making 8.25PS and 10.3Nm, same as the one on Honda Grazia. It features a telescopic fork and a three-step adjustable rear monoshock suspension setup. Braking hardware comprises a petal disc up front (only in the Smart variant) and a drum brake at the rear with a combined braking system.

The Standard and Smart variants of the Dio 125 comes equipped with a fully digital console that displays range, average and real-time mileage along with a tripmeter, clock, side stand indicator, ECO indicator, Service Due indicator and malfunction light. Smart Variant, on the other hand, comes with a Smart Key along with Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe and Smart Start features.
