Tata’s pioneer twin-turbo cylinder technology will mark its debut in the Altroz CNG and you can now check it out for yourself at dealerships

Tata Altroz CNG is awaiting its launch and it shouldn't be too far away, considering that the pre-bookings are already underway and the car has even started reaching showroom floors. The Altroz CNG will be an important car as it’ll debut the carmaker’s twin-cylinder technology, which takes up less space in the boot via its unique twin-cylinder setup.

Offered in a total of six variants: XE, XM+ XM+ (S), XZ+, XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S), the Tata CNG won’t just debut the twin-cylinder technology, but will also bring a sunroof to the hatchback, which will be offered from the mid-spec XM+ (S) trim. Moreover, it doesn’t miss out on any creature comfort that the standard Atlroz packs with features like wireless phone charger (new), digitised instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and cruise control. Its safety kit comprises dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors with camera.

The CNG kit is paired to a 1.2-litre engine, which has an output of  73.5PS and 103Nm in CNG mode. It is front-wheel drive only and is geared via a 5-speed manual transmission. Expect the carmaker to charge a premium of around Rs 1 lakh for the cleaner alternative fuel and the new feature additions over the standard corresponding petrol powered trims. It’ll be the third premium hatchback to get a factory-fit CNG kit after the rebadged duo of the Toyota Glanza and Maruti Baleno.
