A Reliable Workhorse

I recently bought Mahindra Scorpio after suggestion of my father. The 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine, generates 140 horsepower which is a beast on the inclined roads. The 4WD system ensured that we never got stuck, even on the most challenging paths. What really stood out was the Scorpio’s suspension, which soaked up all the shocks from potholes and off roads. However, the average fuel efficiency of around 10 km/l could be better.

Good value for money

The brakes of this car is very good and the ride and handling is very nice and comes with the start stop system to enhance fuel efficiency. The ground clearance is very good and the dashboard is not big and for turning it is easy and the front seat is comfortable but the rear seat is not so comfortable on the bad road. The steering wheel is light and for the city the mileage is around 10 to 11 and for the highway it gives around 13 km but the automatic trasmission is missing.

Never disappoint

I took a drive in the Mahindra Scorpio from Delhi to Jaipur. While its performance on highways impressed me with its power and speed, the mileage in city traffic was a bit disappointing. The SUV's spacious interior and comfortable seating make it ideal for a family of five, but its fuel efficiency could be better. The build quality feels sturdy, and the all-wheel drive adds to its off-road capabilities. Overall, it's a decent choice for those who prioritize power and space over fuel efficiency.

Uneven roads

Ride quality is jerky and bumpy, Especially on uneven roads. The suspension is stiff and the body roll is high, Making the handling difficult at high speeds, The interior quality is not up to the mark, With cheap plastics and outdated design, The seats are not very comfortable and the legroom is limiteed in the third row, The fuel efficiency is low, With an average of 12 kmpl.

Mahindra Scorpio Pros and Cons

Scorpio Positives Points: Classic traditional boxy SUV looks are still appealing, new chassis and suspension tweaks as well as the mHawk engine make a big difference to the drive experience.

Scorpio Negatives Points: Lacking in interior quality and features, touch screen is especially laggy, no automatic or 4x4 option anymore.

Zigwheels Expert's Conclusion : Will still appeal to people being a rugged, dependable and imposing SUV on the road. But most will find the interior experience wanting and the lack of an automatic or 4x4 option as restrictive.
