The bigger sibling of the Classic 350 will be based on Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform

Several new Royal Enfield bikes are set to be launched this year and now the manufacturer has filed a trademark for the name “Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin”.

The status of the trademark application has been listed as ‘Formalities Chk Pass’, meaning the Indian Trademark Registry has authenticated the trademark application documents. We already know quite a bit about the Royal Enfield Classic 650 as it has already been spied several times before. The Classic 650’s styling is very similar to that of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 with the headlight nacelle, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, split-seat setup and an upright riding stance because of the mid-rise handlebar and mid-set footpegs.

The bike gets an LED headlight unit with halogen turn indicators. The fuel tank shape is similar to that of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, as seen when the bike was spied at the start of this year. Also similar to the 650cc bobber, it gets dual slightly upswept pea-shooter exhausts but with a chrome finish. The last spy shot prior to this about two months revealed the exhaust note of the upcoming bike.

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be powered by the same 648cc air-/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 47.45PS and 52Nm found in the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 but could get a relatively relaxed engine tune to suit the Classic’s nature. It is expected to be launched somewhere between August and October 2024 and will likely be priced around the Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
