Hero MotoCorp has trademarked the name: Mavrick 440 Scrambler, which suggests that the manufacturer is working on developing a scrambler version of its neo-retro roadster. The status of the trademark is listed as ‘Marked For Exam’, meaning it has been assigned to an examiner to determine if it could be trademarked.
As a scrambler, we expect the upcoming bike to get changes such as simpler body panels, a bench seat, headlight grille and a braced handlebar. The 440cc, single-cylinder engine powering the Hero Mavrick 440 is already quite a torquey unit and we think its tuning will be left unchanged for the scrambler. The same goes for the 175mm ground clearance as it is good enough to handle off-road patches. It is likely to get block-pattern tyres with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheel setup.
The rest of the bike is expected to remain unchanged. It should get the same suspension setup consisting of a 43mm telescopic fork and 7-step preload-adjustable twin shocks, both with 130mm wheel travel. The all-LED lighting setup and the LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity will most likely be carried over to the Mavrick 440 Scrambler as well.
