A Mix of Rugged Charm and Urban Sophistication

After owning the Jeep Compass for over a year, I have come to appreciate its blend of off road prowess and city style comfort. It is a vehicle that screams adventure, yet does not shy away from the urban landscape. The 2.0 liter Multijet diesel engine is a powerhouse, offering 170 horsepower, easily handling both highways and rugged paths with a smooth 9 speed automatic transmission. The fuel efficiency, however is where I felt the pinch averaging about 14-16 kmpl, which is little bit less than ideal for daily commutes in India.

Incredible performance and amazing features

The engine performance is the biggest advantage of Jeep Compass and comes with the 4WD and is a great SUV for the off roading. It gives good amount of power and torque and the drive feels very smooth and is the most comfortable premium car. The feature and safety is outstanding and is a very capable car but the back seats are not good for the three occupants. The look of this spacious SUV is very premium and the ride quality is the best but the price is high.

Outstanding diesel engine

Comfortable family SUV, rich in features and great off roader all in one package gives Jeep Compass and the look of this SUV is mind blowing. The boot space is nice and in interior there is not any problem and the all black theme is very nice. The seats are very comfortable for the long rides but the visibility is not good and in second row space is less than the segment. It is practical for the entire family and the engine is well performing and the diesel engine performance is outstanding but gives vibration.

Striking design

Compass has a very simple yet striking design. The minimalistic design means it will age very well.Compass is a very practical vehicle with a very good passenger comfort and good boot space. The ride and handling of the car is very good. The suspension set up is just right. The bonnet is long and the driver sits a bit lower. Thus it takes some time to get used to the car.Clutch is on a heavier side. But if you are looking to get the best out of this beautiful 2.0 fiat engine, You need to go for manual. The engine is very powerful and the power is available at all times. The sixth gear gets the best out of this engine and at cruising speeds, The engine purrs along very smoothly. The suspension and aerodynamics of the car make it a very comfortable cruiser and miles pass without any effort. The steering is slightly on a heavier side but that allows for a very good feedback. The infotainment system is decent, Though one expects a better system for a car at this price range. But the music system more than compensates for small glitches on the touch screen infotainment system.Another thing to note is that the approach angles are not very good. Thus one needs to be careful about the front getting scratched or banged at potholes, Steep climbs and descents and steep speed-breakers.The heavy clutch can be a bit tiring in traffic situations. But overall, A very well packaged car and a great suv for driving enthusiasts.

top-end model of the compact suv

The Jeep Compass is the top-end model of the compact SUVs offering a blend of the classic rugged capability with modern luxurious amenities making it class apart in its segment. These are one of celebrated look of Jeep and such as the seven-slot grille and oversized wheel arches which make it the largest and the most conspicuous on the roads. The inside of the Compass mimics a luxury cabin with a blend of high-quality materials and a user friendly technology that helps drivers maximize comfort. A distinct combination of various strong engines and 4x4 systems (available in the Trim) the competency of Compass driving well in various conditions including while off-road can be described as impressive. Though some consumers may find its rear-seat space being smaller than some competitors in the same class, the manufacturer has generally done well with details. Indeed, this is the case where you contend that the Compass includes most of the features, whereas some advanced driver-assistance technologies come as an option only on higher trim levels. Given these factors, the Jeep Compass's stylish, capability, and comfort mix are big integers in the list of choice for the ones in search of adventure in which there will be no compromise made in terms of luxury.

My Honest Take on the Jeep Compass

Ever since I laid my eyes on the Jeep Compass, I knew I had to get one. And Riding through the busy streets of India and occasionally wandering into the countryside, the Jeep Compass has been a reliable companion. Its 2.0 litre Multijet diesel engine, delivering around 170 hp and a torque of 350 Nm, never left me wanting more power. The ride quality is splendid, all thanks mostly to its frequency selective damping suspension that smartly adjusts to road conditions. However the rear seat space is a bit tight for a vehicle which is a disappointing.
